• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

sms630 vs 2013 drz400sm

After 2 years with all the airbox and Tuner etc mods on my TE and SMS, I recently raided the piggy bank and fitted the Twin Arrows kit to the SMS. The results were so good that I dropped the same kit on the TE with equally impressive results.
The Arrows ECU allowed me to explore more fuelling options with the JD Tuner. An Iridium plug on top of the Arrows allowed me to add even more fuel.

Expensive ?, damn right, but the end result was awesome, bikes with serious cahoonas

the dealer told me it really wont make a difference to adjust the forks or the sag he said id loose handling I don't really know much about that I weigh 175 is he wrong what exactly will that do

Search some of the suppliers of springs (race tech for example) and determine if your suspension is set up properly for your weight and riding style. Typically the rear preload is way to stiff for someone 175 lbs. That would require loosening the tension on the rear spring so you get appropriate sag numbers. This also allows the bike to sqaut easier when you wack the throttle and lift the front end in the air.

If the front forks are raised excessively in the triple clamps this will also impact how easy the front end comes up. How many lines on the forks are showing above the triple clamp?

The JD is cheap and simple, and a snap to install.

The Power Commander may edge it out a bit once you drop the extra money for the autotune.

i bought the powercomander it was like 380 because the dealer told me it would help is it adjustable or do i need the auto tune? its ben on my bike for a year and the only difference ive found is it doesn't stall are they just not remaping

Any bike can pull wheelies, I don't care what it is.

Do the mods that everyone else has done, or get rid of it and buy the bike you want.

well I admit when im wrong and I gotta say it was all rider I had a really bad crash on my 250 and tore my meniscus I finally caught myself not committing and leaning forward. I can finally hang her up its made my riding much more fun. with mods she powers up in 3rd and clutch up in 4th and hangs god I love my 630

huskyfan....let us know how th TE ECU works for you and your opinion...ThanksView attachment 28278

hey I have not ben around but better late then never its really not worth the money I spent 325 but it does make a great amount of difference in the bottom little less up top tho. if I could find it used it would be well worth it had I had to do it again, but with the gearing airbox pc powerup ecu its a whole new animal I got laid off so I cant splurge like I used to or I would have the leo by now but I really don't think its that needed, im happy

and even more skill if you can wheelie in 2nd and go through the gears as you accelerate while riding on the back

I can do that all day long until I run out of gears or road, but I'm too much of a scaredy cat to ride at balance point for very long...

Ah .... but can you take round a sharp corner at the speed of a butcher´s dog and do all the rest of the things only a good moto can do?

yea I can corner and yea I can wheelie all six gears all I was trying to say is it took time more then I thought it would to adjust riding styles to the 630

Longer swingarm on the 630 makes wheelies a bit higher and a bit harder to hold
Other than that, having ridden a DRZ, the 630 feels more stable when you're in deep, but it takes good tires and having the suspension set up properly.
