• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC So installed the red spring....

I keep thinking about playing with the power valve but I'm happy with it the way it is. I actually wanted some more mid range pull but I accomplished that by putting the map switch in. Really woke the bike up

map switch does not give more power unless the wire under the tank was disconnected prior to install as it would have been on soft map.

red spring will improve mid to top and allow you to upshift sooner because it pulls harder earlier, its easy to swp back if you dont like it

My plug was unplugged. I thought they all came like that. So ur telling me that have that plug plugged in is the same as having the map switch on and unplugged is the same as having the switch off?

Default is plug plugged in.
Yes, when the plug is plugged in, its the same as having your map switch on, and plug unplugged is same as having the map switch in the off position.

The "map" yes. The "map switch" no. If you do not have the switch, just unplug the grey wire under tank for the soft map, plug it back in for he hard map. I don't notice a big difference but there is a difference.

I installed the red spring in my 2015 TC250 with the stock power valve setting back all the way out. My bike lost all low end and was almost difficult to ride. Its jetted perfectly and rips with the stock yellow spring installed. I thought the red spring was suppose to hit harder? It had about the same top end just completely lost all low end power. Is this right? I may try it again but i was not impressed at all. In fact i may try the green spring just to see what it does.

The colored auxiliary springs are for what rpm the power valve becomes fully open. The brass square drive screw adjusts when the power valve starts to open.

So i installed the green spring and it was completely even power not much of a powerband at all. I put the red one back in and realized i had put it in originally without lining up the notch in the back. Im new to these bikes, came off a CR250. The bike had great power all over and i noticed a nice hit. the track i ride is very tight and i like the way the stock spring feels it hits nice down low and as long as you keep shifting its always there. I would use the red spring on a faster more wide open track though. Im thinking of getting a shorty silencer and putting the red spring in and see what it does.

I found the best results with the brass adjuster in the stocky setting or fully backed out, for WOT it seems to be the best setting.
