• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Starting engine other than neutral

Has anyone found a set of electrical drawings that would allow the me to override the starting only in neutral default. Kickstand safety is fine but stalling on the trail and then looking for neutral is no fun.

I'll have to try it again but I'm pretty sure I've killed it at an intersection before (I'll blame it on no MOSS update) and started it in gear

You can't just pull your clutch in and hit the start button? Pretty sure I've been in gear, killed it, pulled the clutch in and started.

Nope, I just tried it again. It will only start in neutral with the kick stand up. It was always like that since I bought it. Is everyone else different?

The clutch safety switch is either unplugged or junk. They sll start in gear with clutch in.

I had mine refuse to start ONCE in gear with the clutch pulled in - had me scratching my head for sure. It's never done it again, but yes - you probably have an issue with the clutch switch or wiring to it.
It should start in gear with the clutch engaged and sidestand up.

Took it to the dealer and it surprised him also. He tried starting a Strada in gear, clutch in and it does the same for him. ??? I checked my clutch switch and it's working. Nobody else with this?

I have had no problem starting mine in gear. I usually leave it in gear when parked on a slant to keep from rolling away. Hold front brake, pull in clutch and start, drive away.

Did this issue ever get resolved? I dumped my bike the other day and am having the same issue. Any help her would be appreciated.
