• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Steahly FFW for 250/300 anyone added one yet

Robert you rode my Italian husky 300 with the super light CR flywheel and it can lug down to a crawl You told me when you raced it at the National you did not ever stall it With all the things you have done to your TE to get it where you want you are making me afraid to purchase a new TE 300. My old Italian bike is just that a old Italian Husky, but it so works for me. I want a new bike but you scare me on all you have had to do to your new TE and still you are not there yet A friend of mine went riding with me the other day and I rode my old Italian Stock WR 250 it craws down so low he asked me if it had a recluse clutch I said no just a old stock bike

One more thing you need to try the Golden 523 Rocky I think you will like it for where you ride I sure like mine after this weekend I used a 110/100/18

Robert put on the 523 Rocky point it at a hill and hold on it will climb like a sticky but will last much longer

I put an 11oz on my tc250 and I love it. Only used it to Moto so far but it is definitely more tractable power.

No direct experience on the 300 but I have put a FWW on all of my bikes with excellent results. I also have one on my sons ktm 200exc which makes a world of difference. Cam.

Don't worry about it. Alot of people including myself are fixated in getting the best PERSONAL bike setup that they can. Whether it be to race or trail ride. I put a 9 oz weight on my 2015 tc 250 and it works great. In four days of riding I have not stalled the engine once! And and eight year old could pull this clutch all day. No need for a rekluse in my book. The TC is 18 pounds lighter then a dated WR 250 (not to say that they are not a great bike!) Has a lower seat height. Has a more modern chassis feel (seat to foot peg distance) and will not disappoint! I did not do the zipty mod to the forks but had Halls do a revalve and they feel great!

OK I will still get a new TE it is just a matter of time and then Money But with 5 Italian husky in the Garage it will be hard to adjust to just one bike that does not interchange with the rest. So I will have to get 2 of them just incase

I have never run a tubeless set up. But from what I have seen with the tubeless you can adjust the pressure to where you want it or where it works best. That is one thing that is hard to do with a mousse. Like I posted I really liked it for what I did with it so far I do plan to race the Vikings 100 mile National H&H next month with one. As a Mag expert we get to do the 3rd loop which will be 35 miles of rocky hard stuff I so am looking forward to the 3rd loop. Good thing about a tire is if you do not like it, don't worry as it will be wore out soon enough The bad thing about tires is. If you really like it you will ride on it more and once again it will ware out to soon. Then you will have to repete the process
I talked to Zip Ty racing today when I order another one I was told they have 4 more left in stock until the new container shows up.

I am now using the FMF gnarley with the OEM silencer, it give smoother power than with the turbine core 2 muffler, I got the TC-2 to be in compliance for enduros. But I just bought an EE OEM muffer end cap with the removable S/A screen, for now I will install the EE cap without the screen until I need it for compliance. FMF #2 told me they will most likely release the Jarvis super long muffler for the reson I mentioned above--long muffler loong power.

Fletch thanks for that info, for the TE300 I have one Steahly option a 5oz epoxy on FWW, I guess with the enduro ignition that is all will fit and do the proper job...... my benchmark is the Beta 300RR Ive been around a alot of them and they just chug so smoothly off the bottom, FMF #1 mentioned most likely heavy fly wheel along with good jetting. before any FWW I am installing a needle recommended ffor smoothness from RLR's Rich Lafferty Mr. 8xs bro.

PS I also threw on my OEM pipe and liked it alot, but smashed it within 2 rides. Grarley holds up better but it all ready has 1 round at pacific crest repair and it back hammered into the frame at the u bend

The gnarley is okay because it's heavy duty, but it's not going to give you that low end you want. The fatty or better yet a PC plat2 with a Flatland or carbon guard. I can also port to fatten the bottom as well. (fyi - I owned the KTM version of that bike).
