  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Steering damper TE449

I would appear from the posts I've read that the Motosportz system is a good one. I like the appearance. Ready to order one, but want to research a little. I've also asked Tinken about what he thinks about this unit. I ride street and dirt, mostly street. At 80 mph I get a little wobble in the front with my super moto wheels, all balanced. And in the dirt, the front is twitchy. Ride primarily loose sand and rock in So Cal.

will work great for that. Have one on my TE511 that I use for everything from DS to technical single track. Really calms the bike down at speed with knobbies. Much more relaxed ride and very adjustable.

Sounds great. I sent you an email, but I think you've answered my questions here. I assume the unit comes in black. It would be great to seem some detailed photos, but that's ok if none available. I will do the detail and post info after I receive and install the unit on my bike. Plan to do a complete write-up on the unit as well, so others can benefit. Thanks for your fast responses.

I highly recommend the Motosportz steering stabilizer for all types of riding (except for high speed desert racing). It is relatively inexpensive and has function which other stabilizers do not have.

Very well then, I have ordered one today. I will see how it works and let all know how it works for me. Appreciate the feedback.

Been thinking about one of these too. Is there a distributor in Australia, or would I be best to get one off the Motosportz website and delivered to Aus?

If your talking about Rex I am sending him a pile soon. Real good guy, get it from him.

Yup, still don't know whom Rex is. 24Mil people in this country, and cant say I know them all by first name. Got a bit more info on whom this Rex person is?

Motosportz that must be a nomad fuel tank is that correct ? If so how do you find it. I have one but every time I go over a washout and land it slaps me on the arse. mine is a 4.5lt/1.18 gallon. Is yours the same size. and do you have a issue.

Bar clamps are they yours or who makes them.

No on the 449/511 it does not have a collar that goes around the frame it mounts to the frame right in front of the seat. You do need to remove the bars and bar mount to add the mounting plate the damper sits in.

I'll dig up some better pix later...

The best way to get ahold of Kelly at Motosportz is to send email. Just write to "sales@motosportz.com" and you should be able to find the info you need. These forums can be a good place to get lost in.

Motosportz refunded my money because they were out of stock - Kelly, can you tell me when you expect to get TE511 dampers back in stock? Thanks!

Ditto, trying to contact MotorSportz via email 4 times. No reply from Kelly for over 2 weeks! Is Motorsportz still trading? Or are they no longer in operations?

I have just called Motorsportz today, and it was forwarded to a voice mail. And the voice mail was full! Either he is on holiday, or the business is no longer in operations.
