  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Still loving that goofy 511

I know you all know this but I just love that bike. Took it out to the Dez again this weekend and pounded out 84 fast miles with two KTM 350's and CRF450. So much fun. ZipTy suspension gobbles up the deep and plentiful whoops, map3 and open exhaust with the JD tuner pull hard everywhere, enough so that Blakes CRF450 and the 511 are neck and neck and walk away from the 350's (as they should). Bike impresses me every time I ride it. Fast, comfortable, able and FUN. I did not take any pic but here are a new friend James took. Good times once again.

Don't let the picture fool you, this was a road, we were riding deep sandy whoops, single track and rocky stuff 90% of the time.

Hey Motoz have you tried putting your bum bag (fanny pack in the USA) in front ie rotate it 180 degrees. It helps balance the load with the camel pack on your back

I like it the way it is because when I sit by backpack sits on it and feels like it weighs nothing.

Ditto! sorry for the hijack, but I agree. Every ride gets better and better. I still get a kick outta people who give me the weird look when I'm filling the tank. Raced an AMA Hare scramble a few weeks ago and surprised how many people came up to me and asked about it.

It is so refreshing to read post like this by Motosportz. It really gets depressing reading so many posts about either how bad my bike runs, or I need this or that to make bike run well, or my bike blew up.... I know stuff happens but it just seems most posts are negative.

My bike is stock and actually runs great. Just sayin....

Amen to that,
I second that motion. Get out to go riding and enjoy it. Atleast people are coming up and asking about the tank under the seat. I get the same on my BMW. People are always saying, " I didn't know BMW built anything like that. I just smile and tell them, " They don't". To me it's all about the prestige of having something different and very capable. The reliability is pretty darned good too.

I looked at new Husqvarna's in Tucson yesterday, after having a couple of root canals. It made the numbness go away quickly. Then the prices came out of the salesman's mouth and a different kind of numbness set right back in again. I almost helped them get them out of the crated boxes but the sticker shock was enough to make me realize how much my Dentist's bill was.

The Beta I had been looking at recently got sold but more are also coming and the prices are actually more attractive then the Huskys. They have a half dozen or so demo Husky's. They each have only a few hours on of them. They were brought in from other dealers and there prices are really good. I think I'll wait until Summer when the new Husky's are more plentiful. Only 1 300 Husaberg left and its nearly identical to the Husky's except the linkage. I think the blue wheels should get put on the Husky's and by then I'll buy one.

Thanks Dave my bike just blew up you no good..... :D:D

I love my TC449 more every time I ride it. The best bike I have ever been on, completely trouble free.

I still love my old TE410.....don't want the old girl to feel left out.

My TE449 is an awesome bike to ride again, now that I'm on top of my tuning issues.
It halls arse, a good match for the new berg 501s I ride with in the open stuff & a great hill climber in the rocks & ruts we come across.
Love it!
Gonna pretty it up a bit shortly with some white side panels & Husky parts SM sticker kit.
