• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Stock Chain broke on my 14 TC250 last weekend.

My stock Chain broke at the Master Link whilst practicing on a MX track. Whats a good non "O" ring chain? I'm looking at Renthal R-1 Works. Only do MX.

I know you said non "o" ring, but this one is by far the best I have used. http://www.motosport.com/did-520-erv3-xring-chain

I used to only use non "o" ring chains for the lower weight, less operating friction, higher hp transfer, bla bla bla. I tried a renthal R1 chain years ago on a tc 450 and wore it out very quickly. Wasn't impressed at all. Went to the above D.I.D. chain and haven't bought another kind since.

Totally agree.
A veteran enduro guy recommended that exact chain years ago. Use it on all my big 2-strokes.
A 5 star product for me.

did ert series. Heck the stock chain was darn good, and at one point I think they were only 55 bucks retail.

I third that motion I have the same one on the bench ready to go onto my TE300.

I will agree on that D.I.D. Chain being the cats meow. I run one of those on my CR500 with great results. Just looking for something good for the TC300 that I can use on the track. Years ago I remember "Sidewinder" made quality stuff but having trouble finding one now.

From reading the reviews I guess it was a good thing I didn't buy the Krause stuff. Have they really gone to hell from 20 yrs ago?

i have heard many scammer stories about the krause stuff...never dealt with them so not sure. i have run tsubaki for years and not been disappointed. very little stretch on big bore 2 strokes i have, altho i have almost always used their omega o-ring.

I used to run "Krause sidewinder" O ring chains on my "Maico's".

I haven't seen any of them being sold for many years now.

My fe501 needs a new chain. The last 8 or 9 times I've ridden, the chain needs to be tightened and is loose again. 120 hours and nearly 4000 miles on the stock chain. Does anyone know what brand chain comes stock? Did, renthal, rk, regina?
