• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey, all you NorCal locals! Eric and I are going to be riding Stonyford this weekend. We want to check out conditions and make a final decision as to when to re-schedule our Husky Ride.
We'll be riding Saturday and Sunday, and will hopefully be camping at Fouts Springs Campground (between the Gray Pine Group Campground and Davis Flat.) We will also be scouting Davis Flat for camping accomodations, as the Group Campground does not have very many available weekends in the near future.

Post up if you're interested! The weather is supposed to be splendid

For Grey Pine, May 12-15 and 19-22 are open. They're booked up until then.

We might ride the DS bikes over on Saturday. Any excuse I can find to ride the 630, i'm there.

I'm so glad you guys made it out to Stonyford! Next time I'll bring a tent for you and you can hang out with us by the fire all night instead of riding all the way back home in the dark :p

We had a good time riding up there, even if half the trails were still under snow. All the "teens" trails are still under snow, and those are some of the best trails out there. We had fun plowing through the snow, though, and riding the big hillclimbs (what goes up must come down ) over on the sunny side of the area. We camped at Mill Creek and it was a very pleasant experience. There were huge rigs up above us at the Gray Pine group campground but Mill Creek drowned them all out :) We took a few photos while there...

We did about 35 miles and came back to camp. I wasn't feeling well so Eric took off for another 20 or so and I walked over to the creek and played in the water and sat in the sun, then slept for almost 2 hours. I was really enjoying the quiet campsite...

The rigs in the Gray Pine group campground can be seen up at the top of the hill...

Look who showed up! The EnduroMan and the Kitty!

Major Huskyness going on in camp...

Is this the spittin' image of loveliness or what? Gary certainly thinks so, and so do I! Eric took it for a little spin and had really nice things to say about it...

We reluctantly bid our guests farewell as they rode off into the sunset...

We went looking for snow the next day, and we found lots of it...

We ran into a lot of snow on the trails but I didn't get too many photos of it because I was too busy
picking myself up off the ground. We did some of the trails on the eastern side, some of the big uphills and downhills down
into Little Stony. Trail 2 wasn't as steep as I remembered it. This is Trail 2 before it gets to the steep part...

I'm thinking we need to give the trails a few more weeks for the snow to melt...maybe May 13,14,15?

I'm so glad you guys made it out to Stonyford!
So am I, had a great time hanging out with you guys. Looking forward to riding on May 15

Nice photos! I still haven't looked at my map to see how you guys got from Chico to Stonyford.
I dig those trials bikes. Good to see a bunch of old guys still out there doing it and enjoying themselves

We're looking forward to seeing you guys!

We rode due west and turned at Newville and headed south on RD 306 to Stonyford. I noticed in the pic of Kitty's DRZ that the chain guard was out of wack. She had picked up a hunk of rope in her back tire earlier in the day on the M9. She got the rope out on the trail and fixed the chain guard back home in the garage.
