• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

strada tire change to knobbies

Now that the E 09's are run in, appox 4000k's, they are working real well.
took the Strada for a run up the Gillies range, appox 300 corners in 19k.
loved it, started of steady, and told my self l would keep it that way, lol. Well that lasted till the second corner, then it was flat out, hardly dropping under 60kph, scraping pegs, yes, scraping pegs on the E09's.
when l got to the top, l went for a run at to a little known lookout along a dirt road. Started off as cow paddock, then got into the rain forestand it got a bit harder, but as someone else said, the faster you push this thing offroad, the more it likes it.
So to cap it up, love the E 09's, and yes, l have to pay for my tires lol

Awesome, what's the little black box hanging off the side?

Well, the E09's have just about had there last ride, love the tire to bits but am going to try the E07's this round. Hope they are as good on the road as the E09's.
Couple of months back, went for a ride with a mate on his KTW 640 Adventure, we swapped bikes about half way, l used to love getting of my ole XR600 and onto the KTM, now, much perfer the Strada lol.
Coming down the Kuranda range had a play with a couple of road bikes, who l left in my wake, the CBR600 would kill me in a straight line, but not on the range lol, a lot of scraping, even wore the corners of my boots.
I got approx 4500km out of the E09's and hope to get moore out of the E07's.
Will let you all know how l go with the E07's.

Gillies launch, hang glider launch, at the very top of the Gillies range.

That looks like the Gillies Lookout off the Danbulla Rd?
Looks like they've fixed the ratty old handrails :-)

Yeah they fixed it all up lol, yeah it is lovely up here, l live just at the bottom of the Gillies :)

After playing in the dunes with Shinko 804 805, that was a lost cause, I tried some real knobbies
And the difference was amazing.
I shoed on a rear TL 19 on the front and a TL 17 on the rear.
Both held air down to 10psi over the 2 days.
Also managed to hit well above 95mh on gravel and felt planted.
