• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Street Tires for the Strada

Husqvarna
AA Class
Hi folks,

I will probably have to swap my stock Tourance EXP at the end of this summer, as they are getting old and a tad too hard. They are very good tires, and I really wouldn't mind getting the same ones, or the NEXT version, but first I would like to hear from other owners of 19/17 Stradas primarily used on tarmac. I know there are other threads about tires, but they tend to be more Terra-oriented.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

I'm not that happy with the EXP. For standard sizes i would choose Pirelli scorpion Trail 2, otherwise a 150/80 rear and Bridgestone T30 evo

I find the turn in to be slow with the stock tires. I'm going to replace the front with a Continental Trail Attack 100/90-19

I'll probably put a tkc 80 on the front and either my used Avon or a new shinko 805 on back.

I tend to always find dirt roads.

Thank for all the feedback. In the end I've decided to get the standard sized Scorpion Trail II, as suggested by Jesper. I cannot use any other size, as in Italy it's strictly forbidden. I'm going to change them straight away, and not wait until the end of summer...safety first. The rear tends to go a little all over the places, particularly on the slick sett, plus there are a couple of cracks starting to develop in the middle of thread.
