After how long and how many vehicles sold?
Ah, good point RD. 10 years or so and 2.6 million vehicles. Somehow I doubt the Terra will reach those numbers.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

I don't understand how Husqvarna is allowed to let this continue to be a problem. GM was required to issue a recall for their ignition switches which would cause their vehicles to die unexpectedly. How is this any different?
I'm beginning to wonder if any one cares about the TR's now the buck has been passed? The air box design, water in the swing-arm, over-heating, rear rack, rear guard and other assorted issues as mentioned on this site also need to be added to the list. Just to name a few!
I don’t have a dealer within 6 hours of me so I am basically screwed, but has anyone who is near the US bigger husky dealers had any luck with folks like Halls or maybe even Bills getting anything from Husqvarna US as far as fixes.
The air box thing has me really upset as it will destroy the engine and unless you are a major dust devil, most likely not untill after the 1 year warranty time for most folks.
I'm not disagreeing but we all sort of knew that with the bike being discontinued there would be support problems, yet we still purchased them. Most of us knew this upfront too.
Tthe one problem that is essential and should be addressed NOW is the stalling issue. This one thing could become an instant loss of life quite easily. It is dangerous, it is unacceptable. For me I did my homework and fount that the Eruption mod best suited me. So I just bit the bullet and did the Eruption mod. It cured the issue for me. Should I have done it? No, of course not. But I wasn't willing to wait on a corporate suit monkeys to make a decision on a repair. I bought the bike to ride, that's what I intend to do. I made a decision to purchase a potentially unsupported bike so that portion is on me.
As far as order of importance for defects and annoyances this is/was my priority list:
1. Stalling at idle - Dangerous, Do one of the spoofer fixes. Easily reversible if there is a recall.
2. Air box dirt infiltration - A motor killer, take this seriously and choose a mod to protect your engine and screw the warranty.
3. Rear bearing wear - Crap bearings, replace them when you have the rear wheel off doing a tire change.
4. Overheating - An annoyance, check the overflow hose it is likely pinched off, fix it. Burp the air out of your system.
5. Water in the swing arm - Potentially harmful, the fix is easy, drill holes and water proof the mud flap attachments
FWIW, I've had my Terra mossed 3 times and it temporarily rids the problem each time. The last time they also recalibrated the idle actuator and performed "parameter relearn procedure" whatever that is. None of it helps. I've also installed a booster plug and that temporarily solved the problem too but it seems the ECU eventually figures it out and over rides these temporary fixes. I'm assuming this Eruption magic device would have the same reaction. I"m thinking the Power Commander would fix the problem but I have no guarantee of that and it doesn't seem like I should have to pay that much to fix something that the manufacturer should be taking care of. It's all very frustrating.
a perfect 100% summary of the boat we are all in.
Now thats cool, hot, warm..sorry couldn't resist, where do you get them?
"Accurate Temprature on the dash, come on, do you really really need it?
Probably not, but we are papering over the cracks and not fixing the actual problem.

interesting point about the ECU over riding the mod....can we have comments on this please and is the Eruption mod actually permanent...?
Whilst I do love my bike the lack of support from the manufacture and dealer has turned me off buying from a smaller maker, my next bikes probably going to be from the one of the big four..... Mines never had a stalling issue when running (just when taking off after start up) but it did get water in swing arm in which I believe it should have been replaced. I’m just hoping that nothing major goes wrong otherwise I may be up shit creek
