  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Suspension Setup Advice for 2009 TE310?

mhopkins

Husqvarna
C Class
All,

I am a "C" hare scramble rider on the east coast (rocks/roots/very little motocross), 220lbs, and very new to adjusting the suspension setup. I at least know how to set the sag properly, but unfortunately that's about it.
Any advice on suspension settings based on my ability, weight, and type of riding would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Depends on how much money you are willing to invest... I say invest because I think it's the single best money spent on a bike! If you are doing it yourself you can look up RACETECH on the web and they can tell you which springs to use and go from there. I take the lazy method, I use a local shop that has been to RACETECH school and 8x ISDE rider, he springs it for me, works on the internels, sets my sag and off I go. It typically runs me about $300 - $500~ complete ready to ride. It's nice to have a true racer who owns a shop that really knows how to set it up.

There are several guys throughout the US can help if you don't have a local guy to help. I see Drew(WER Dampers) on here has really knows his stuff and I'm sure I'm missing others on here as well.

Solid advice, and thank you, but more than I am able to spend at the moment.
I was sort of looking for the number of clicks to set on the forks.

I understand about affordability! The minimum you will have to do is springs... there are no clicks when you weigh more than 175~ due to factory spring rates. The springs are not holding you up properly and you are going throught the stroke creating a horrible ride. Sorry for the bad news!

Here is a clue on the clickers .. Open them up fully and take a test ride ...Close them up fully and take another test ride ... You should now have an idea of how much effect the clickers have on your riding ...

To be safe, write down your current settings so you can return there if needed ...
