• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SWM in the USA

Plenty good for the average Joe trail rider or DS/light adventure bike. They're not claiming to be state of the art tech wise but it's still a solid package price needs to reflect that however
You can get a couple year old husky for the same price

Over here the SM500R is $10k on road (with a free Arrow slip on), the RS similar deal... a 2017 FE501 new is $15.5k on road, an unsold showroom stock 2016 FE501 is $12.5k on road. Sure the SWM is an old design but $2,500-5,000 buy a lot of tyres, oil, suspension, track days etc.

Racemx is talking about here though. Its 9k and a husky is about 10.5. With the deals that happen they are about the same price. Originally the SWM was going to be 7500-8k. Not to mention we still can't get one. The price has jumped quite a bit while waiting. If the SWM and 501 are even close to the same price, 501 it is. There's no denying that the 501 is a much better bike and with the price about the same...

That’s my point landofmotards..... apples to apples for 9k I’ll take the 501 every time..... I was very interested at 7500 and less at 8k but out at 9k

They're that price down here!!!
$8500 for 300
$9000 for 500 plus ORC($500-$800)

Anymore & they wouldn't sell any I reckon. Mind you with price ktm/husky charge for a 500 still relatively cheap!

They say at SWM/US FB $8500 for RS500R (plus ORC).. So I am guessing the SuperDual would be ~10k for stripper + $1,200 for GT pack, going by the EU pricing.

IMHO even $8500 is a bit there for essentially trail bike as it has close ratio tranny and short oil intervals for DS touring use.

Yeah 501 are listed at 9200, and let's not mention WR450F

Whatever they are, they sure sound sweet. The factory GG team bikes at Endurocross looked great and sounded crisp. As a track crew member, you get up close and personal.
