• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SWM is back

So did Gas Gas get the x-lite motor that was in production at the time of the *cough* ownership change, and SWM got the pre-production next gen x-lite technology? Interesting stuff. Looks like SP didn't really didn't want anything from Husqvarna except the name.

edit: Maybe GAS GAS will be sourcing the x-lite motor from SWM and not producing them. The SWM factory is the new BMW built Husqvarna factory, so... BRAAAP!

Maybe KTM was worried this new motor could bury theirs and got a year+ lead to market the hell out of the Husky name before this motor reached good production levels. Nice to see competition in motors instead of one for all business model. Hope there is an importer and they immediately market a street legal model and the same lower price point as Husky was. There is an opening and a market if they move appropriately.

Funny the name on the motor. Looked it up. So they are saying thanks for the work, now we'll grown ours right on top of what you started. :D

The Bialbero de Casorzo (Italian: "double tree of Casorzo"), which is also known as Grana Double Tree, is a unique tree situated between Grana and Casorzo in Piemonte, Italy. It is a mulberry tree on which a cherry tree grows. The cherry tree rises well above the mulberry tree on which it stands.

All interesting stuff...very...yes KTM had to kill a cub very simple.... and unfortunately business is business... I saw a cool looking swm 440 cafe style ..liked it.

ha ha I like mine better :p

I like yours better also, but either works.

I would like this front fender on my 510. It has the same profile as the 630. On the 630 you can set your trail soda on top of the fender and it doesn't fall off. Sucks spilling your soda.

Your both right - ask an Italian friend of mine. All in the context used.

P.s. 510 goes fast enough to "pin" the soda can to the number plate (or headlight) :)

it still has husky on black oil filter cover under cs sprocket! looks like a lot of wasted space under tank where more fuel could easily fit? make for easy spark plug/engine access I guess, just looks empty. if this mob make a 150/200 small bore(that could be 165'd in the 150 case) or 250/300 2t at a decent price ill be all over one!:). maybe the whole ktm buyout wont be so bad with GG using engines(& parts) & swm reappearing! even shineray for a parts source if trying to be really positive:D

some wave style newer rotors would be nice & maybe a more stylish headlight but ez fixes I guess

the one you posted above looks smaller doesn't it rancher? the swm engine in the bike looks like the old 450/510 motor I thought?

So can we officially put the Stefan Pierer/KTM evil empire talk to rest? Seems like everyone came out of this deal ok now.
