As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I have to agree. In fact I keep finding my self saying things to my kids and then realizing things are a lot different. EZ to discount our young as worthless losers (many of course are not) and not doing the right thing but IMHO we (our generation) handed them a bag of crap and no real opportunity. IMHO we did this when we started the global economy and did not protect ourselves (speaking about the USA here). Now it is a race to the bottom price wise, screw the long term effects. My generation with NAFTA and MANY other giveaways, turning a blind eye to china's currency manipulation, lack of real import taxes, and we love to outsource our slavery to third world countries. When I graduated high school the dot com boom was in full swing and I had endless job offers for way more money than I was worth. Now my kids graduate at the top of the class, are great kids and their opportunities are far more limited so much so they are now competing with people 20 years older than them for jobs people that age did not even used to do. Add to all this this generation was brought up with the web and social media. Its NOTHING like I was brought up and the information they have access to is limitless. Things are changing very fast and you can see the effects of it everywhere, politics, economic classes, communication, everything. Then there is our population, that's really going to be the end of us. Its a bold new world, hold on...

Wow, talk about retro, it's cool except for the awkward tank design.
The old Rotax air cooled 600 single engine would be nice in that bike. It kinda resembles that engine to a degree.
It will be interesting to see how it develops. The older Husky TE610/630 engines were stout and had a nice 6 spd gearbox.

Hi guys,
I am working on a deal to become an SWM dealer this coming month.
So I can already tell you some things. First of all the brand is completely independent from Chinese company.
Even all the parts are from European suppliers (except for a few parts from the retro's). They have a state-of-the-art complex build by BMW for the old Husqvarna and even hired all the good Husqvarna employees!
One goal for the Chinese is using the brand to get some sales in the US and Europe, because they know it is not going to work with Shineray bikes. Also they will use SWM as their "R&D center" for all their brands. THAT is the main goal.
In the coming weeks there will be a presentation of the final models. These are some of the changes:
SWM 650 (former 630) will come as SWM RS650 (TE) and SWM SM650 (SM). The color black will not come, because it was not liked by the general public. It will be the white/red/yellow SWM colors.
SWM SM450 will be a SWM SM500.
The retro's will have less angular gas tanks to appear more "vintage". There will be two retro's: the scrambler-like Silver Vase and a cafe-racer which is a combination of the brown, green and blue retro. I believe that these will be the only bikes that will not run on Husqvarna engines, but older Honda engines.
The first bike will be produced in July. This will be a batch of 650's. This will be followed by enduro's and finally the retro's.
Prices will be between 5900 and 8000 euros in the Netherlands (so around 5000-7500 in the rest of Europe).
For the future big changes are coming: a 125cc line-up, more two-strokes (including the secret two-stroke concept the original Husky was working on), maybe even a 900cc and more!
Soooooo expect more pics and info the next 3-4 weeks.

The TR's and 449/511's are the unwanted BMW bikes in this deal. I have heard that parts for these bikes take longer to get as KTM has to buy them from BMW. Funny how stuff works. CCM and Speedbrain build bikes around the 449/511 mill so BMW makes money off the engines and then money off parts to KTM.
A SWM 350 x-lite 4 stroke sure sounds awesome.
It took longer because the parts have to be bought from Rotax. However KTM didn't have a agreement with Rotax and has some bad blood from the past. However all that is fixed now and they have their agreement.

Hey Erik I just looked at your web http://italhusky.com/ and I'm impressed!! you have schematics for all the parts and pricing, fantastic....I will be placing an order shortly.
You should promote yourself on here, we need someone who knows our bikes and is keen to help all owners around the world.

Depends if I have it on stock.
If so then within 1-3 days in Europe and 3-8 days outside of Europe. If not then I just order them from the factory and it usually (95% of the time) arrives within 5 working days (Monday-Friday) at my office.
