  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 310 reserve petcock on/off

Ok 2011 TE 310. I assume the screw petcock on left side is reserve. Which way turn for off/on? Yes I will look in shop manual but at lunch and don't have it. Also. If I take off 02 sensor and put connector and plug in dash says it is in race mode. Is that good?

For the screw petcock, down is on.
By removing the O2 sensor, you have effectively started your power up, and there are a few other things to do (see other posts on how to do this), but apparently in the US this could?? void your warranty, but they absolutely FLY when powered up.

You have no reserve ! (You have low Fuel Light) .

As I explained in an earlier post , these two petcocks are just there as a means of connecting both sides of the Fuel Tank together .

Normally both of these are open (one down , screw type , screwed out) .

You close both and remove rubber pipe to remove Fuel Tank .

"Race Mode" is good if you want it in Race Mode ??????

DG Harv you obviously have great knowledge of these bikes and your responses are appreciated. I like using these forums as I don't always have the time to look at the shop manual. And as you have seen from my other post, the manual is not always so clear. If you assume I am an idiot and you are going to be sarcastic, don't respond to my thread. I like helping people and nobody knows everything. Isn't that what this forum is for? Thanks for the response on the petcock. With the power up plug installed I noted above the display shows it in race mode. Can I switch it off race mode? Does the switch on the bars do anything with the power connected plug on? What is the good and bad of race mode? Thanks to anyone for responding.

I just think your knowledge can be beneficial in helping people like myself who have never owned a husky. I am the king of sarcastic. I also take the time to help people. No disrespect intended. Be well

I may be wrong here as I've only recently bought my 310 but I thought they were always in race mode, the only options you have are to change from race mode 1 to race mode 2 to suit the ground conditions.
