  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te 450 stall pop and bog then die.

Well i think its time to put this thread to a end and update everyone on whats gone on sorry its taken so long. The good news is it actually now runs and idles and revs off the choke no more poping or banging. id been through the already cleaned carb again for squits and giggles just in case id missed something. Next went through the whole electrical system cleaning and checking every plug every earth the whole loom and found nothing. i had the coil and the stator tested by my local husky dealer everything came back ok, i even replaced the water temp sensor just in case. Im honestly stumped to why it ran so bad and now its fixed and running so well. Im sorry i cant give a definitive answer to what cured her.

Well its seems like this problem wont go away, its at the stage where she will idle fine and run for 20 minutes or as yesterday a grand total of 3.2 miles and then she starts to bog and cuts out again. Does anyone have the ohms reading for the stator with mine being an E 3 model 07 TE 450. If anyone has the test procedure id be really grateful.

ive taken the stator out today and i think ive found the problem the insulation on the ducati stator is chipped on several of the coil winding's.
