  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE Ignition Switch?

A Class
I know I've seen these before but for the life of me I cannot find any info. The only place that has a collection of special part catalogs is HALLS. Couldnt find any info on the ignition kit.

I don't like the fact that my TE didn't come with a ignition switch. Since day one, I can not even lock my handlebars
I adjusted stopper, still won't turn. When parked somewhere my bike has no deterrent.

Anyone have the husky part number for ignition switch kit?

Is it plug and play or some wiring involved?

I know HALLS can help me out, but would like search availability on the net. Last time I ordered from HALLS, it took 3 months for my package to arrive from over seas. I can see a month MAX..but 3?

Thanks guys!

My sentiments too.

I have already wired a switch to switch the lights on/off (TE310R)

I've looked at the wiring diagram and identified some suitable places to switch - the starter button and fuel pump.
I just need a suitable switch. I want to mount it in the spot where the FI light is, and I want to have the lights switched on the key too, instead of a separate switch. My issue is that I can't find a decent three way key switch that is small enough to fit in the FI light hole.
There is a company in the UK that does aftermarket Harley stuff, and they sell what looks like a suitable solution, but the key is a round, security type key, rather than a traditional blade type. I need to get over to them and see if it will actually fit before parting with folding stuff.

TE449 ignition switches are just 2 way, and are around £45 GBP.

Thanks for the website info. I just placed a order for that switch. At lease now I will have more peace of mind knowing I have some sort of deterrent while walking away from it.

Thanks again

I had trouble with my key switch then I realized I wasn't pushing the key in to the cylinder the right amount to get it to turn. Since then it works fine, me just being an idiot.

So, just to confirm, this is plug and play for a TE 310 also right? Anyone have a description where to look for the plug to "plug it in"?

Oh... And it comes with "how many" keys?

Thanks !

Are you referring to an ignition switch, or the steering lock? If ignition switch, how did you install it (presumably) on your '13 TE310R ? And, was it the same one linked above?

This will not fit directly to a TE310 (12/13/14 model anyway)
It may fit in the hole where the FI light goes, but I don't know for sure
It will need bespoke wiring - there is no plug/play switch for the 310

That's okay. I thought you probably were.

It's ridiculous that they removed the keyed ignition on a street legal bike. Wishful thinking made me wonder if there was a plug and play way to do it.
