  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE250 2010 Clutch rubber dumpers

Johnny Danger

Husqvarna
A Class
While breaking in my freshly rebuild 2010 TE 250, I have noticed the clutch is stuttering in first gear when I need to modulate it. I have decided to change everything involved clutch related and now I am in the process of rebuilding the rubber dumpers of the clutch basket.
They seem impossible to find! The spare part code is 8000 31378, but it seems it's not available anywhere online.
I am sure those things are the same in many other bikes, do you know if I can buy the kit from some other bike and they fit?

I am talking about these things here:
Parastrappi frizione.jpg

The original ones are 30mm outside diameter and the "hole" inside is shaped slightly different from everything I can find online...

Nothing? Has anyone ever changed these things? I usually find them from the factory, even for much older bikes...
I am considering 3d printing them in TPU, it should be ok even in oil and with moderately high temperatures...

Sorry I don't have a source for them either but I like your your idea to 3D print them. I bought a new 2006 TC510 many moons ago and the clutch rubber dampers came apart when I was riding. They were round so using a punch set I was able to make a set of the same size from a sheet of urethane. I'm curious, what kind of rubber material could you use to 3D print?

TPU (68 Shore D the one I am using from Bambulab), but modifying the printing specs (mostly infill pattern and density) you can have a final peace of the shore you like (almost). I am trying now and will get back when I have the final product. Honestly it looks perfectly fine, I just need to tune the infill to make it softer.

Hinson sells them with the clutch basket. Not sure if the will sell them to you seperate.
Thanks, it's expensive but it looks exactly like the stock one (with the same kind of rubber dumpers). I have found out that rekluse sells almost the same thing but with perfectly round dumpers. Given that they are around 300$ (more with shipment and fees) I think I'll give my cheap diy tpu solution a try...

I'm all for saving money but keep in mind that the rubber you use will need to be resistant to gearbox oil. If the printed dampers come apart while riding you run the risk of plugging the engine lubricating system. I found that out when the rubber dampers in the new 06 510 I purchased came apart. Fortunately I felt a loss in power and immediately went to idle speed back to camp. Found out later the rubber pieces were so small they were everywhere in the motor restricting the oil pump. In fact I think the bike came with a Hinson clutch.

Seems like you made mistake in your part number. It is 8B0031378 (not 8000....)

Maybe you have more luck searching with this number. eg. (don't know your region...)
