• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

For what its's worth

I noticed something while doing tech inspections at the Funky Chicken this year.
The new TE300s dont come stock with a Spark Arrestor!
Enduro Engineering end caps solve the problem and are nice and quiet; and judging by the results they arent hurting power.
One guy with a lightly used FMF Turbine Core was pushing the limits, if not over on DBa (96 target).

(On a side note, Jake's FC450 blew 94...you could ride that thing on the street and not raise any eyebrows from the sound. Nice job by the Factory Husqvarna team.)

All the enduro KTM smokers lack a spark arrestor. I think that comes from the novel idea KTM has that they are closed-competition bikes only. Of course, most are used as playbikes with some people racing them as a side use and KTM knows that. Not only that, all the cross-country and enduro races I've been in required spark arrestors anyway. My take? KTM is cheating us for the amount of money we spend on these machines...but what do I know. Jeez all they'd have to do is build an SA into the muffler they already have at an insignificant cost. I was not pleased to have to spend another 140 bucks for an SA after shelling out over 9 grand for a 2 stroke Husky off-road bike.

PS I've used the end caps and don't like them due to the additional length and other issues when compared to a combo muffler/SA.

Enduro Engineering SA end cap is no longer than stock one. I run one on my '12 Husaberg TE250 and have never plugged the screen. I do take it out periodically, to clean it.
