  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te310 with rekluse

i have a 2011 te310 and been looking at getting a rekluse. does anyone have one and what do you think of it.

Check out these guys http://www.efmautoclutch.com a little less money than Rekluse (625 plus shipping). I don't know anyone running these clutches so I can't say anything good or bad.
I had a Rekluse on my KTM 400 and loved it. Just don't feel like springing for nearly 900 dollars for my 310.

I want one too but just can't see spending $900! For now there are allot of other things I could use before spending $900 on a rekluse.

I have one on my11 te250. it is really cool in the rough & tough stuff & when you get into trouble u don't have to worry about grabbing the clutch just worry about keeping the bike upright . the one thing i don't like is you can not lug or chug the bike anymore it's either on the gas clutch engaged or freewheel. the best thing is on this 250's soft bottom end power you can still pull the clutch in and rev and dump the clutch like normal. rode with stock set up at first now have the stiffer springs installed it lets the engine rev higher before the clutch engages. but has less engine braking when the rpms drop close to idle then freewheels. overall is a very good product ! just takes a while getting use to it if you never rode with one before like me. it is very easy to tune and adjust when needed. i got MY11 TE250 & REKLUSE for the same price as a new te310 that is why i went for the 250 !

I recently installed a Rekluse zStart Pro on my 2010 TE450 (http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/rekluse-zstart-pro-clutch-install-report.22304/)

I gotta say I love the thing! I used to struggle with the engine cutting out when I slammed the rear brake when on the trail (not a problem anymore) and stalling on rough uphill sections (not a problem anymore). It hasn't made me Graham Jarvis, but it has made me a far better rider than I was before. I still fall off and can't make it up any hill I point my bike at, but I can make it up hills I couldn't before, and on the ones I don't make it up first time, the Rekluse saves the engine from stalling and I can chug/walk it up from there most of the time. I would say the value of the clutch is in saving my energy when it comes to recovery.

I am still yet to install the Left Hand Rear Brake (LHRB) which was one of my intentions when I bought the clutch, and it's still something I fully intend doing when I get the time, inclination, and spare money. I have seen on several occassions how I would benefit from one.

As for the EFM Cluctch suggestion, there are a couple of guys on the Kawasaki Forums that have dones the EFM conversions on their KLX250's and they swear by them. The idea and physics behind the auto-clutch idea are pretty simple and well known now, so if you go this route I doubt you will regret it. The only problem is that you need to remove your clutch and send it into them to convert, so you are bike-less while that happens. Not a problem if you're in the USA I guess, as it will be pretty quick, but it's a hinderance here in Australia.

I have a rekluse (core exp 2.0) on my husky 310 2012 but it won't work. When the engine is cold there is no problem but after 10 min the problems starts, the clutch starts to slipping at low rpm's.

I have a 2011 TE310 with a Rekluse. For me it is fantastic. I haven't stalled the bike once since the Rekluse (that isn't a misprint - not once). If you don't ride in the tough going then it likely isn't a "must have" but for the mixture of trails we ride on it is fantastic. I'd say it all depends on how good a rider you are combined with the trails you ride on.

If you haven't already, you should call tech help at Rekluse. They are very helpful.

If you have much more than a 1/8 inch free play gain in your clutch lever when engine is hot you need to reset install gap one full turn plus 2 tick marks. i have had to reset install gap twice on MYTE250 it makes a big difference on clutch slipping. i also switched to shell rotella 15w40 which rekluse recommends and seems to help a little on clutch noise and is a lot cheaper than the AGIP 10W60 i was useing before. So i just change it twice as often.

It just won't work!!!:(Already reset the install gap 10 times.when the bike is in first or second gear and I start riding the clutch makes a strange noise just for 2 seconds once's the bike is riding there is no problem.
Only when the bike needs to pull it in to motion or starting at a hill climb the first seconds there is always that noise. It is just like the clutch is between working and not working.I 'm getting desperate. And I already call tech help at rekluse

I also switched to the heavy springs ( the red ones ) lets the engine rev a little higher before clutch ingages. the only noise i get now is if i nail it at a dead stop take off . i have learned to use the manual clutch when wheel spin is needed at take off. The bike and the clutch seems to like the heavy spring set up the best ! What kind of tech help did you get from rekluse ?

I have had Rekluse (with LHRB) on my last 5 bikes. This is the first time I've had the new EXP and the first time i've had any "issues". Rekluse only builds the EXP for the x-lite because it needs ALL the clutch plates - especially in 310 version. My Rekluse performs flawlessly EXCEPT for a chatter/squeal when the clutch has to work hard (think uphill slow 1st gear starts). I've installed the little rubber dampers that Rekluse provides to combat this - and run various oils to deal with it - and have minimized it but ... Zip-Ty has a clutch mod which is supposed to stop the problem for less than $100. It's not bad ecough for me to send them my clutch hub yet - but maybe this summer.

I have a zipty bike with rekluse, still makes the noise a little. Only if taking off in too high a gear. Have not tried other oil yet, running semi syn 10-40

That's normal to have some chatter with a Rekluse. The oil you use can make it better or worse and installing the anti chatter rubber buttons can help with the noise as well. The noise is just that ..noise and doesn't hurt anything. Try some other oils I had luck with Rotela-T non synthetic and Royal purple motorcycle full synthetic, mine still made a little noise upon take off.

In regards to the clutch chatter, I was talking with Ty last week and he says the stock Husqvarna basket rubber bushings wear out and get some slop in them causing the basket to chatter. Zipty has a fix for it on their website. It requires some minor machining that can be done with an angle grinder. The kit is about half of what a Rekluse basket costs. Once my Rekluse shows up I will be closely inspecting my stock basket to see if it needs new bushings prior to assembling the new clutch. Motosports has had my Rekluse on back order for 2 weeks...:( (tapping toe)

Hello i have the same Problem with my rekluse core exp . I have change everthing the Springs the basket but i have in the First and Second gear that bad chatter noice :-( i will try now the Oil and i Hope i get an answer from rekluse. I'm Not happy **************************************** Before i have a Husqvarna Te 450 with the old Rekluse System no Problems in the Last 7 years and Never this Bad chatter noice.

Reveille the enabler through his bad influence coerced me to order a Rekluse for my TE310. I will post further as my addiction deepens.
