  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te310 with rekluse

Funny I just got back home from riding today and a buddy has a KTM 450 and we switched bikes. He liked mine and I hated his. I can't get over the power the 310 puts out when compared to a 450 it's darn close from my butt dyno. Loving the Rekluse more now than ever. Great trails we rode today. I am worn out but smiling:cheers:

I am very interested in a Rekluse for my 2013 310. What year is your bike? I believe they make one for the 2013 just having a hard time shelling out the cash. Just got my bike running right and it is pretty amazing. Waiting to do a side by side compare with my sons CRF450X. I think its going to be close? Did you install clutch?? Any surprises?? He has one in the CRF and its amazing in the tight rocks and roots even on that big a bike.

I have a 2011 TE310 here in UK doing plenty of wooded enduro competitions. Fitted a 3.0 Rekluse about 3 events ago and now i am used to it i do like it. Gets me out of stalling and difficult situations up steep inclines.
Do find i have to adjust the free play and find that 4mm of free play in neutral revving it works fine. Thought about trying the red springs to see what happens to the feel.
I swapped the injector and ECU for the 12 hole and modified ECU and what a difference it made to the rid ability of the bike, massive difference. I also used the std TC250 rear silencer but it is a bit noisy so just landed a ebay leo vince rear silencer cheap and trying that this weekend.
Awsome bike, slightly heavy but takes a lot of punishment!! oh and its not Orange :-)

Glad you like it. I like mine more and more. Took some getting used to. You think your bike is heavy? You may be the first.

I have a Revloc Dyna Ring in my WR and like others said I can't imagine not having it. Tight up hill stuff is so easy it's cheating. I do use the rear brake much more going into corners hotter because of the no stall feature.

Hi guys I have txc310 just fitted A rekluse exp 3 when I went to adjust the free play gain i found after finding the starting point and then tried to screw the adjuster in It would bottom out before I can get the right adjustment I then went to the adjustment on the clutch it self and screwed it in to take up the free play I then went back to the slave adjuster and this allowed me to get the right adjustment this action was not in the instructions what I am worried about is the internal adjuster coming lose as there is no lock screws. This would take away the adjustment and out on the trail would be difficult to fix I have emailed rekluse and am waiting for a reply .Has anybody else had this problem? When I picked up the clutch kit it did not have the ball bearing in the slave so I fitted one that appears to be the right size not sure if this was the problem but I dont think so

Sounds odd. Mine has held the initial adjustment for over 500 miles of off road and tight single track. I just came off of 3 days of off road riding in northern Wisconsin of wet rocky rooted tight single track and some open fast single track. Clutch works perfect. Give Rekluse a call, they are very helpful from my experience.

Hey Menace I have the exact problem on my 310R I called rekluse this morning. They didn't suggest I take up the play by adjusting the clutch cable?? Which after reading your thread made me think...why didn't I think of that. Well apparently they didn't even think of that!! Any way his suggestion was as long as the engagement was almost instant and the bike wants to crawl just a little with out stalling it should be fine. However if I wanted to get it setup closer to the 1+5 that they suggest he could send me a 30thousands washer to put on the throw to take up some slack? The good news according to him, is as the plates wear you will need to turn the adjuster screw out to compensate. My concern was we would need to turn the screw in to adjust for wear!!

Hope this helps...and thanks for the tip on adjusting the clutch cable itself!!

Kevin

I have contacted rekluse but have had trouble with the emails that happens over here as we are on the bottom of the world but what I can gather is it is ok to take up the free play with the pressure plate adjuster but you need to use red locktite on it I am waiting for them to send me the exact way to adjust it before I pull the side cover of again that washer you talk about would solve the problem I dont know why they dont include it in the kit this must be a txc310r problem as I have not heard of it on any other model I dont what the difference is  ps I will post the results from rekluse when I get them

Ya...after my post I realized....there is no cable to make an adjustment with:doh: But was hoping there was some other way to adjust the clutch at the lever!! Anyway...had a race this weekend. Clutch seemed to be slipping a lot but the conditions where pretty wet so thought maybe just the way the clutch acts under these conditions. (first race with the clutch) Well now it appears I might have burnt steels in the basket!!! If this is the case I hope rekluse will help me out with the replacement cost. Especially if they left something out of the instructions like menace says:censored:

Hope you get it sorted the adjuster is in the center of the pressure plate make sure you have the adjuster on the slave backed of before you screw it in then lock it with red loctite you will have to take he pressure plate off so you can take the adjuster out to apply the loctite as you can not screw it out it has to go inward then refit the pressure plate and screw the center adjuster in do not over tighten then you can adjust your free play gain as normal with the adjuster on the slave good luck

I talked with a rekluse rep today. He said on the core exp the center hub should not move and should be screwed in all the way and set with red Loctite. Prior to the adjustable slave cylinder that is what was used to adjust the gain. Which meant you would have to remove the clutch cover each time you needed to make an adjustment!! So I have a 30 & 60 thousands washer coming from them along with some fresh steels. The washer well just go over the existing washer on the throw. We'll see how it goes from here. Have a two day ride this weekend so hope this works!!

not sure I want to keep my Rekluse... I recently bough a 2011 te 310 with 2k miles with a rekluse core. I rode it for my first 130 miles of trails last weekend. I like it riding with my 8yr old son, puttering about. I like it most of the time actuially.... but I like hill climbing too and I REALLY don't like uncontrolled roll backs. I also like the option to push start downhill. I am not so lazy that I think i will miss it much and I have all the origional stuff. It may be for sale soon.

I would reccomend it for most people. just not me.

PLEASE DISREGARD THE INSTRUCTIONS I POSTED ABOUT FITTING A REKLUSE TO TXC 310R THE INFORMATION I RECEIVED FROM REKLUSE WAS INCORRECT OR MISLEADING AT BEST YOU NEED THROW OUT WASHERS TO TAKE UP THE FREE PLAY NOT USE THE CENTER OF THE PRESSURE PLATE I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY REKLUSE PRODUCT THIS HAS BEEN A PAIN WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SIMPLE JOB WITH THE RIGHT PARTS AND ACCURATE INSTRUCTIONS I FINALLY HAVE ALL THE PARTS AND INFORMATION TO DO THE JOB WITH NO HELP FROM REKLUSE:censored:ED
