  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te410e low on power or is this normal help please!!

Hello, to all, please can someone help, with some info, i have recently acquired a te410e 2000 in the year, its seen active service for the last couple of owners i think, but prior has been carered for, its done 6500 km possibly more as i have found a bill for new speedo cable a few years back in the owners book.

the bike i feel should be giving more of a lively response, but as i have never riden one before (husky and a 400 ) im unsure, its geared 13/48, that gives it 12% lower than stock, i have upped it to 15/48 basicaly a gnats over stock, my problem is it seems to me that its not willing to lift the front at all, with either gearing, on the throttle, but will happily get up to 140kms + , it starts on the button, probably turns over twice if that before firing into life.
I have checked valve clearances all OK, replaced throttle needle and float valve, and throttle spring, new ngk plug, new twin air filter..

So people, am i wanting what it was never capable of or is she not well?
I choose this model with a bit of general all round riding in mind, back roads, green laneing, the odd low key hare and hounds enduro, and with the view to spring summer riding putting some road wheels on her and super moto styling it, but one thing i was looking forward to after 15 years of road biking and returning to of roaders was popping the odd wheelie for fun, let alone when off roading, trying to pop the front up to assist navigation of tree branches etc, but nothing, apart from a red face pulled back muscles and a dislocated shoulder from trying....
Please help....

kind regards
to whoever can help

Hello,

I have a 2000 TE410E as well. she has been sitting for 4 years. I installed a new battery and she came to life with no problems. They are a great bike but needs some extra kick. You can try re-jetting the carburator or even doing a new topend if you want higher compression. I ride mine hard and fast and I am in the process of upgrades. She only has 2k miles on her. Let me know how it goes.

i rode one of these before buying my 510 a while back.... went like hell ! so i reckon there's prob a carby issue ....

my 510 has also been a different animal since it was jetted and had exhaust modified.. major difference.. just a thought..
