  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE450 Headlight???

The TE450 headlight is terrible! Has anyone replace bulb with a better one? Let me know what options are good as I ride at night just as much as day.
Thanks,
Doc

I had a 08 TE250 and installed a IMS HID the one with 2" and 4" HIDS from Motosportz it worked great although was not good on highway as it blinded oncoming traffic.

If it is the same as my 2006 TE250, and I believe it is, I just went up from a 35W to a 45W. Which is still not great, but much better.

I put in a 8007 Automotive halogen headlight-Copied RajoBigguy- it is common anywhere- unlike the stock bulb- and it has been in for over a year without issue- its 55/60 and is bright- I have the 09TE450 and it has the enough electrical power to handle the headlight and the fan being on for a 4 hour enduro race...

I did the same thing, and agree....better, but not great

Been going back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to go with another lamp change, or just go for the Trail Tech X2 Dual Sport headlight

Which year? I have the '09 and the headlight was really bad. The '10 headlight is much better and can be fitted to the '09 with little effort, which I did. It's good enough for what I need, which is to get me home on the road at the end of a winter day in the dirt when it gets dark early. It's not good enough for serious off-roading in the dark if that's what you want.

If you already have a '10 and need a better light than that then I guess you'd be looking at something like the TrailTech.

I am using H7 HID kit with some silicon. It is been 1000 miles and lot of rough trail and still work fine. I am in the process to make another with H4 HID kit.

well, guess I'll wait a little longer..........If you do ever get one, I'd like to hear how it works
