  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE510 to a WR300

if your not used to a 2 stroke your going to find a hit on the wr i promise. its not as bad as some ive been on but its got quite a bit more snort then a ktm 300.

that said if your dead set going to get a wr then there are some options for throttle cams if you find youd like to tame it a little. a fly wheel weight will help out with smoothing power delivery as well.

for what its worth: i still want to own a 165 (stroked AND bored), but i hate keeping up 2 bikes.

ive got the g2 throttle tamer currently on my 510. that definately mellowed out the low end power of the 510 so i hope it would do the same for the 300.

thats good to hear. i do like how tall the 510 is with my height. i did add a pair of rox risers to make standing more comfortable and i flipped the pegs lowering them a little.
if the power is similar between the 2 bike but the wr is much much lighter, it seems like the bike. it would be nice to try one out just to see though.
what gearing are you guys running for hilly, rocky, single track terrain? currently i have 13/50 on my 510 with a rekluse clutch. if i do get a wr, one positive is that the rekluse can be swapped over!!!
Hey KJ,
Just wondering if you had the which model rekluse you have? The reason I ask is because I have the EXP coming for my 300, I was keen on getting the whole CORE EXP but they dont list them for the 300. If I was to order the CORE components for the 510 to go with the EXP system I already have would they fit the 300?

There is no need for the core on the 300,i run the exp 2.0 and it works great,I trail ride and race very aggressive B class with it.The clutch pull is harder, but works the same.I did a 3hr harescramble yesterday and never touched the clutch ONCE! I did have to get the heavier wedges, the mediums did not engage soon enough for my liking. This is just my opinion.I love this thing ,give the bike sooo much more traction too,

Sweet, thanks for the reply mate  that put that annoying little thought in the back of my head to rest.

i have the zstart pro for my te510. so far so good with it. besides the suspension upgrade, this is the next best thing to add to your bike...well in my opinion at least.
