• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE630 HARD Starting!

FOCO

Husqvarna
B Class
Hey guys I have a 630 with p/u kit installed by Halls. Bike has 1100 miles. The first start of the day is Real hard starting. Replaced battery and spark plug, no change. Im thinking its something with the fuel injection, or maybe the ibeats map? Would love to hear from anybody else with starting problems. Thanks

my friend has a similar issue but it appears to be related to the auto decompression. Does yours spin fast when you are trying to start it?

Are you using the enriching lever? That's what I have to do for the first cold start of the day. I know many others have not had to use it, and some do.

There´s definitely something wrong. Mine starts just by touching the button ... even in winter, and I´ve never had to use the enricher lever (or is it a de-comp lever?).

Mine has quite a bit of clutch drag, especially when it's cold. For the easiest start, I shift it into neutral, pull the clutch and the enrichdecompfastidlewhateverlever then hit the magic button. It fires right up.

This.

I've never had a bike with so much clutch drag and I've yet to start it when the temp is below 70 degrees. In the winter I don't think it would start without being in neutral.

Thanks for the replys. Just got the valves adjusted, no change. Does not matter if you pull the magic lever or not, still hard starting. I can finally get the girl to fire up after about 3 or 4 hard sessions. NO GOOD. This only started happening for the last 3 weeks or so. Before it would fire right up. Once the bike is warmed up it starts right up.

From my experience in the mountains last week at 25 degrees you will have to be in neutral.. the bike will not move in gear with the clutch pulled in until warm.

Mine fires right up. No matter if 0 or 25deg c, in gear ir not, cold start lever never used. If bike turns over, it should start. I would check the FI system, especially the temperature sensor. If sensor reading wrong the FI may not be rich enough for cold starts.

Thanks, thats exactly what I was thinking. I have a new sensor on the way.

Any word on this, I have a similar issue. Hopefully the collective wisdom here can assist. Had the FI light flashing intermittently. Discounted the battery and swapped all fuses to no avail, neutral light still flashing.

Also had issues starting it until I read that not using the ''choke'' was the way to go since may need to replace a sensor. Sure enough no issues starting it.

Went for a ride, and after 80 km had a intermittent loss of power like it was running on bad gas, then it would be gone for 20-30 km. Of course I headed straight for home, and made it home, roughly 60-70 km. Stopped around the corner from my house since the surging, sputtering had stopped some 20 km before. Again it would occur and disappear as quickly as it occurred.

Started the bike up again 5 -10 mins later and noticed no flashing neutral light any more. Rode home, 3 blocks and intermittent fuelling issue came on again worse than before.

Parked right now, I don't ride in the week, but would like some advice to fix it during the week.

Bike has power-up and that is it in terms of mods. 4,000 km roughly on it.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

No IBEAT yet but plan on buying one.
