Livin' It Up!
Time to remove forks and shock to send to LTR for some work. Looking at the manual it looks like the subframe and just about everything aft of the engine needs to come off! I don't suppose anyone has worked some magic to get that thing out of there? At first glance it sure looks like the back has to come off. If there is another way, I would like to know!
It's going to be the perfect time to build a sub-frame reinforcement too, to make sure that the Wolfman racks soon to come don't wreak havoc with the bike. What I have in mind doesn't look all that easy, but if it works, I will try to get patterns and a jig put together. I think there is space to get it all the way forward to connect to top and bottom sub-frame struts, and bolt to both. Haven't decided on steel or aluminum yet; steel stronger and easier to weld, and might hold up to the vibration and beating better. Time will tell.....
