• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TERRAFORMERS

On the foam, it's difficult to tell a lot just by pushing on it. My other SC seats have been very comfortable for long rides, so I am expecting this one to be similar. All reports are that the stock seat is good too, but I wanted it a bit flatter. I would have liked the back hump to be reduced, but after looking at it, I think it's OK as it provides a good surface for my duffel, level with the rack.

Some nice seat... You missed red stitches though :D Do they make embroidery on the seats ?

The red stitching is nice :thumbsup:Did you pay the extra $$$ to have them install it or did you do it yourself?

I had a SC seat on my KLR....very nice quality

Ken, how is the width compared to the stock seat?

Thanks!

My Seat Concepts stuff is on! Had a friend help with installation and it looks great. The difference between the stock and SC saddle is all in the middle of the seat, where it is about 1" higher. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but I no longer feel like my butt is being drawn into a hole. The bump is still on the back, but it's a bit easier to slide forward and back now. After my ride later this month I'll have a much better idea of how the change works, but for now, I like it!
Nice seat Ken! How did you get the staples in the valley, or did you cheat it somehow?

Tons of great work you guys have done on your Terra's. I am happy NOT to see 4" abs sewer pipe converted in to tool tubes anywhere on your Terra's. :applause:

Thank you!

Hey, someone may want to check on Kjack! :D

Im here....just still all butt hurt about the cleatcoat over decals mess I made :-(

Bars look amazing dude! If you do go for the safari talk and they do play well together, you know you can offload them here quickly****************************************

Terrific work Fab! I just don't know how it could be done any better.

As to my seat cover installation:

I realized right away that my hand stapler would not let me place staples down in the deep valleys of the pan. I had to either go buy a pneumatic stapler and a box of staples, or get some help. I have a friend who is into classic cars and thru him met his upholsterer. I did the prep work of removing the old cover and foam, and stood back while a pro did the installation (took no time at all). He had all the tools, glue, tape, etc.

So yeah, I cheated!

Safari, I think, makes some tanks for the KTM that mount on the side, up front. Or, they could mount to the side in the rear. I'm very curious as what they decided to do. This doesn't appear to be an easy bike when it comes to adding fuel capacity. Whatever they come up with, it probably won't help the appearance, although I think the Safari on my 630 looks pretty good. Protects the radiators too!

Got my bags all mounted up.

Thanks for all your help. Sorry, it seems my photography skills are second only to my welding in suckage.

Still need to lengthen the kickstand.
