• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The Dodo Bird Missed Connections Thread aka Holy Crap I Actually Saw Another TR650!!

BTodman is twenty minutes from me. I've seen 3 others cross the Great Western H' way over the Blue Mtns.

I seen another one in Cairns on the highway a couple of Fridays ago and then in the afternoon passed one loaded up with NSW plates.

I do a lot of riding in the northern beaches and north cairns. I've got a small camo bag on the back rack and soon to have a nice s/s hand made rack going on soon. I've so far seen 2 more Terra's riding around the northern beaches. i'm all ways looking out for other tr650's

Had mine for about six months now, and haven't seen a single other one. If it wasn't for this place, I would be convinced I had the only one!

I'm in brisbane and i've seen two, a strada commuting on gympie road and a terra at the caltex in murwillumbah. the terra had screaming demon pipes on it.. it's was so dam loud.. not sure i'll be getting those pipes. it looked like it was well abused as well. the guy was a hoon, he was having a ball on it. :) awesome stuff.

Im in Brisbane also, and for the first time I came across a strada on my daily commute. The encounter was brief as he headed towards the city, wearing a suit and tie at 6:30am on a cold winter morning.
I gave him the thumbs up but he didn't appear to click:( , probably busy concentrating on how to avoid the next stall  ...err joking

Here are four in Moab a few weeks ago . Mine is the red one, third from the right. One lives in Park City Utah, One lives in Phila Pa , one in Chester Co PA , and mine lives in Lansdale PA. Killer trip, killer bikes.

I have a Terra-fied Strada in Warrington / Doylestown, PA area. MY GF lives in West Chester (off Miner Street) but I never rode the TR there. Maybe it was my ghost.

The only other Terra I've seen in real life was at the AMA sanctioned Adventure Ride in Tolland Massachusetts (Berkshires) two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I brought the Tiger Explorer (big mistake). Anyway, when I saw the bike at a fuel station, I approached quickly to state that I also owned one. I looked up and it was a very fine looking lady under that helmet. I've been in love ever since. It was her 4th time on the seat. If that was my girl, that bike would be well broken in by now..... or at least her seat....

Wasn't a TR650 but I did see the only other Husky I've seen on the road last night, a Nuda 900, riding through Brandon. Beautiful bike!

After 19 months, I just saw a Terra on the road while I was grabbing lunch on my Strada. I almost pulled a U-y to catch up and say hi. I about got whiplash when I saw him.

This was over by Corporate Woods in Overland Park, KS -- not that I expect anyone to know where that is, but figured what the heck.

Saw my first other Terra today when I stopped at Ride West BMW in Seattle around 12:40 pm this afternoon. This Terra had the right exhaust pipe delete mod and knobby tires, Altrider stickers, crash bars, and looked a lot more set up for off-road riding than mine is at the moment. Didn't get to chat with the owner though as I was just stopping in for a brief time, was on my Terra as well.

I am curious if this is the same one that was hanging out by their van at the Rally in the Gorge. Kind've neat.

Dodo spotted:
1745hrs, Friday 5 September
Beach Rd, Black Rock, Melbourne, Oz
Strada variant
Is it yours?
I was the bloke crossing the road with the kids staring dumbly at your bike...

Edit:
These dodos are out of control - another Strada spotted today in Redhill, Victoria.

On the first day of my trip (8/22) I saw another Strada up in middle of no where Nebraska, heading the other way on the highway. Look like he/she was coming back from a trip as I was heading out.

Any chance this was on Saturday 6th? If it was would've been me heading out to Boneo rd.
