  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hey all - looking down the line I will likely be in the market for a new bike next year. Probably toward the end of the year, but hey it's not too early to start shopping, right? :cheers:

My current bike is a good running 200 KDX - how will the low and mid range of the new generation 250F's compare to it? I have not had a chance to ride one of them, but will try to do so before buying.

I weigh about 160 fully geared up, 49YO Senior C (on a good day I can sometimes pretend to be a Senior B rider :cool:), and spend about 90% of my time in 2nd and 3rd gear midwestern single track. About an even split between just trail riding, HS and enduro's.

I don't need a plate for any of that, so probably thinking in terms of the TCX250 if I go that direction. Would appreciate the comparison between those bikes for those who have ridden both. :thumbsup:
 
ha have you considered looking at a 310??????? IMO i think the new 310 will be the benchmark for enduro bikes eg light as a 250 and user friendly power worth thinking about.:cheers:
 
There is plenty on the bikes already written ... Do a search for 250 \ 310 here and see what you get... My 08 TXC250 (CARB) has been a very good and versatile bike for trails \ tracks \ hills \ and the street here ... I needed to put a o-ring on the save clutch but other than that, zero problems after 270hrs ...

After 08, they went to efi on most models except the TC I think ... In 010, the 250s got the lighter engines, in 011, the 310s got the lighter engines also... Someone please correct me if I am wrong here ... Suspension has swapped some with different KYBs on the front with some Marzocchis' on a few models ...
