• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The List of Supportive TR650 Dealers

So, I have been reading a few fearful posts related to dealer support. I understand that a few people have had issues and not received proper service. This thread is to provide a list of dealers who are doing a great job supporting this bike so that folks who are having issues can seek aid.

Eurosport Asheville:

30 Bryson St, Asheville, SC 28803
(828) 255-6600

My local dealer, they have a MOSS tool and a cracker-jack team of techs to help anyone with TR650 issues.

Bills Motorcycle Plus:

1126 12th St SE, Salem, OR 97302
(503) 585-1153

I am new to Huskys but Bill's is not. I have no ties, but have emailed and spoken with them. Based on this forum (and the other one), Bills has a MOSS tool and is one of the best TR650 dealers in the country.

Ok. Where else can people get reliable service for these bikes?

I never thought I'd find a dealership that I could like but this one is completely different. They have the Moss tool and totally support the Husky line of products.

Scott has MOSS tool and is an eExclusive Husky dealer. One of the largest in volume sales on the east coast. Good parts inventory. Genuinely cares about the brand. Vintage bike enthusiast, and on and on. Cannot say enough nice things about these guys.
"Retail" is not spoken here.......should be there motto!

Saturday 8:30am to 12:30pm

BTW for general interest Australia is nearly as big as Contiguous United States (48 mainland states). Contiguous United States is 7,663,941.71 km² while Australia is 7,617,930km². So about 44,000km² in difference. Exclude Alaska. So you can spend ages getting totally lost. God its empty of people out there.

Bought my '14 Terra from Cross-Country Cycles in Metuchen, NJ. (911 Middlesex Ave, 732 635 0094)
Took it in for the 600 mile service and asked about the MOSS update and got blank stares. Stupidly, I didn't check the bike over when I picked it up so didn't notice the chain has only 3/8" play instead of 1.7". They did offer to fix it when I called to let them know they need to train their service guy to read and follow a maintenance manual, but I'd already moved to rural PA and will have to adjust it myself. $250 for what is basically an oil change. Not a big deal, but makes me wonder what else they screwed up or didn't bother with during prep or service. I also tried to order a spare ECU just in case (the '13 Terra I tried to buy in June had a broken ECU and they still haven't gotten a replacement), but they said they don't know how to order one - seriously, their words. Big dealership, little competence. Caveat emptor in their house.

Took it in for the 600 mile service ..... $250 for what is basically an oil change.

On paper it might just be an oil change, but the 600 mile service is where the dealer should be thoroughly going over the bike to check for correct torque on all bolts, to ensure that everything has remained as per factory spec, and check for any abnormal wear points. You should be getting some value for that $250.

Me; "Scott, how much is this...?"
Scott; "Well it lists for $x.xx but your cost is $x.xx"
I told Scott if he ever sold Harleys, I'd probably end up buying one. He's been keeping me broke for years now. Awesome guy.
