  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thinking about buying a 2010 TXC 250

I am thinking about buying a 2010 TXC 250 and wanted to know from some people if you think a 210 lb rider will have any problems with not having enough power. I race harescrambles and enduros on the east coast most of our races a fairly tight with alot of hills, roots and rocks.

I'm thinking about the same bike and two friends have them and I hope to ride them in the near future. One is the owner of a Husky dealer in Berkley Springs, WV. Both riders are around the same weight and they love the bikes. Plus others on here are in that weight range and seem to like them as well but hopefully they will chime in.

I ride my sons 2010 TE 250 and it is never "UNDER POWERED" anywhere. Light as all hell too.. Were are in the rocks of Pa

If you are looking for a dealer in Virgina www.themfi.com is a good choice

215lbs too 6'

I had a 09 TXC250 and it had all the power that I could handle in the woods. It wasnt real fast on top end though. Im 6ft 210 in street clothes.

If you want to get the most out of it and don't mind spending a few extra bucks, put on the new Power Commander and an Auto Tune hen set it up with a HGS or Akrapovic exhaust....Wicked, VERY similar to the TC!!!

I think its about the perfect amount of power for east cost woods racing. Enough that you'll be able to accelerate quickly, but not so much that you'll just spin everywhere and wear yourself out needlessly. I can second MFI as an awesome VA dealer!

I'm 5'11" 225lbs. No problem hauling me around in the woods or a practice day at a local motocross track. Thinking about the 300 kit for a little more torque.
