• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tires-Opinions and Performance

I just did 1000+ miles on a a new Kenda K270 front and was very impressed. Very stable at 85mph and does fine in the gravel. My buddy has one with just over 8k miles that still has tons of meat left so I thought I would give it a try. Beats the Big Block, T63, and TKC80 IMHO. I will probably try this model out on the rear once I wear out the Heidi K60 Scout I have been running.

I went with the Sinko 700s also. Works very well except in sticky clay, This tire has a softer body like the 270s, but the big plus for me was how quiet these run on the street. Did 12 days off road in Idaho and Utah ,no problems.

Can you tell me what size Shinko 700's you went with? They don't list the original size tires anywhere I can find.

Hi there

can you tell me what size Kenda K270 did you put on your Terra? Front tire?
thanks

I have used the sinko 130 size on the rear . Seems to work well , two others also use this size on their Husky. I think it would be true with the kenda tire also. Not many tires in140 .

130 will fit fine. I deliberately use K60 in 130 as the 17in 140 has the solid center band.

I have tried numerous brands..It just take 500km + to get to the no-where places in South Oz . I always scrub the knobs on anything after 2 or so trips.. When will they develop Kevlar impregnated rubber for us???
