• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TLS brake

I can't read German but I see three brake plates on the site you linked.
Will any of these work to make the rear brake (not cr) dual leading shoe? I am guessing 1982, 1983 in that area before they changed the way the backing plate matches to the hub. I seem to recall the brake plates for my 420 auto seemed the same front/rear.

Hi,
the shown TLS brakes from Gerd at time only for the front brake !

Amazing these CNC !
Is Gerd an Husky fan ?
It is remind me another crazy Dutchman !

Hi Michel
Yes, Gerd is a great Husky fan !
He and Paul Rottler ( former Maico factory rider / 1975 German Champion MX 125 ccm, 1977 2. Place Enduro-World Championship 125 ccm, 1978 German Champion Enduro 125 ccm, 1979 German Champion Enduro 125 ccm )
ride at time on Husqvarna 4 stroke twinshock models the south-german-TWINSHOCK-MX-championship and other races in the surrounding countries.

After thinking about it for a while I think it would be two trailing shoes if put on the rear.

Andy from HVA-Factory had have one of the ( very rare ) original Husky TLS brake plates in a bike from him. This original Husky TLS rear brake had have a another
geometry in the arragement of the levers and torsion axles.
I think he had it shown here in Cafe Husky.

The CNC guys have also machined a second front style TLS backing plate that fit in 81 hub as an option. I stop in and visit the German site to see
what others are doing around the world. They have more new parts planned

I have a CR500,82.5 and it came with a single but put a double leading hub on it . That stuff from Germany is amazing what CNC milling machines can do!!

Is there a TLS for the rear on an 1981 cr 430? I put on a TLS in the front from a 84 parts bike I have. Was wondering about the rear. I see HVA factory has cabling to rear TLS? Just learning. Thanks.
