• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

today's ride I dropped it!

So, I got Brother2 to go with and up top of Waimea Canyon today.
Remember yesterday when I said "No, I have not dropped it. Yet."

Today that's not true. We pulled into the lot and it's on a hill. I go to put my foot down and slide my butt off to the side like I do most of the time, but it was just WAY too far, and with my stupid jeans....anyway. Ended up doing a pretty good girly screach and it just fell over. Sort of was embarassing. So, the real pisser was, and I know none of you guys care was the fact that I ripped my damn jeans. Oh well, nothing really was damaged on the bike. I held onto the bars and it flopped over. We pulled it up real quick and Brother2 checked it over and said it was fine. Then he pulled into a spot real cool like and he ALMOST dropped it himself----because of the kickstand not staying down. So that's when he was talking about the kickstand being broken and how it sucked and all this other noise.
hee hee hee hee.
So I played it all cool and made it all like I knew what I was talking about and said "Yeah, you can bend some plate or something and it'll work fine and stay down like it's supposed to."

So, mahalo. You people made me look cool right after I looked a fool!!!

Don't ya hate those embarrassing 0 kph drops. Good to hear you and the bike survived the experience well. Where are the pics of the rest of the ride ?

No pics of me go online anymore....:(

A couple of years ago I had a picture of myself in a curl I posted online. It was REALLY hot. Magazine hot. Super sexy grin and a nice shoulder tuck. (itty bitty top, I'll fully admit that) Anyway, some super CREEPY internet guy from the mainland stalked me out and actually showed up AT THE DOOR asking about me after sending me weird messages like he loved me and wanted my babies and whatever. After the paniolos put him in the truck and took him to the airport, we thought it'd be better to NOT post pictures or details or the such online.

(...but I'll post some of the canyon scenes!! Just don't turn into internet creepy people!!)

I'm definitely talking about pics of the bike and the scenery.. We want to see Hawai'i !!

hah hah hah. sorry, i'm gunshy about that sort of stuff, obviously!

Na Pali. It takes like 2 hours to get there from our place, but it's only like about 5 miles if you walk straigh up over the pali. I've never done it, but Brother1 did a couple years ago. Dumb but cool.

Wow, that is really unfortunate. I'm glad that I'm not a hot chick,so I can post all the pictures of me I want on the internet, without being bothered:lol: .

Ya most of us older guy have that same problem. When we show pictures of our self and our bikes. Phone gets to ring'n... mags want us to start pose'n with our bikes. Hot chicks keep asking for rides.
That's why we find it a lot easier just to post scenery pics with our bike and leave all us handsome Dudes out of the way.

Nice pictures, I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to say which island?

Edit, I just read your other thread and see where you are.
Welcome!

As they say, "It's not the matter of "if" you drop your bike, but "when" you drop the bike". Anyone with any riding time has dropped their bike. Glad to hear you & the Terra came away unscathed. No damage, no jeans, no problem!!! Check out Roy's for some great food, and Aloha spirit.

And there's us guys who make all of the pics overexposed with our shiny craniums...
