• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I was going to go with a tail bag, but I don't think I can secure one good enough for where I go. If it isn't secured it will walk off. Anyone using a top case? Any recommendations and any photographs with a top case.

Thanks,
Brian

Do you have the stock rack or BRmoto or other?

I have a BRmoto rack, with a Seahorse SE-540 ($60) bolted on with carriage bolts from under the rack plate, into holes I drilled into the box, then through rubber washers and fender washers, topped with wing nuts. Works really well for me. Plenty of room for all my rain gear, extra gloves, balacava and whatever else for my commute. I would pull it off and replace with a soft bag if I were taking it off road.

I have a cheapo Givi E26 on mine, attached with the included adaptor plate bolted to the existing TR650 rack.
I have had this same case on 3 different bikes so far, it has held up surprisingly well.

If I am going to do a lot of offroad or I just dont need the space or locking ability, I strap my old Suzuki factory DRZ bag on the Givi plate.

BRMoto side racks, stock tail rack, but made a bracket to beef it up tied off the BRMoto. Then I have a Pelican 1520 case, carry a cable, and a lock.

Hi Ignaciob.

Favor. Can you share or post a pic on how did you made the bracket to beef up the stock rack?

On one of my rides my buddy behind noticed my top case seems to bounce "abnormally".

TIA.

This is mine, just bolted to stock rack 3 hole pattern. I will eventually replace this with a seahorse case and new luggage rack, with locks. Vintage utility case is all it is.

Hello all....long time reader, first time poster here.

I opted for a Hepco & Becker rear rack combined with a Hepco & Becker Journey TC 30 topcase. The topcase design really fits well with the overall appearance of my Strada, and I think it will work as well on a Terra. It's also fairly capable, easily fitting my Schuberth R1 helmet, my wet weather gear, and a foldable backpack. The rack is IMHO a must have, in part because is sturdier than the Motech one (and obviously greatly improving upon the original plastic one), in part because it provides better handles for the passenger. The following are some pictures I've made a few minutes ago with my cellphone at work. Not sure why, but the case looks bigger on picture than alive, probably due to its slimming silhouette.
