  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Top Secret!

I'm really stoked about this bike. I loved riding our '09 CR 125 and can only imagine the 150 being even more fun.

I am stoked too, I am meeting Krieg thursday to take possesion of his 2010 TC250 to park next to my '09 wr125!
Everybody is happy...

Yeah, I loved the aesthetics of the 09/10's... sounded like great bikes all in all... the 150 is going to be quite a change from the 510, but one I am really looking forward to. FUN is what I am looking for these days!

While I was down south golfing we picked up a cherry 04 CR125 with less than 2 hours total ride time since new. I put my 144 top end on it after one day of struggling in the rocky, tight crap. Yellow spring with green inner and zero adjustment up and of course the modified power valves. All I can say is what an incredible motor. Chugged like a champ with a very meaty mid-range that seamlessly transitioned into an absolutely ripppppping top end. I am so jealous of all you guys that get to ride the tiddlers at near sea level all the time. If the new cr150 motor runs anything like that you are going to be one happy camper. Congrats on the new bike and take pics and post ride thoughts.

Where are the pics with the full ride/mod report?

No pics yet as the 04 is currently getting naked in my garage. Forks/shock heading to LTR tomorrow, have the 167 kit setup and ready to install. Yes, even with the incredible 144 motor, Jon is opting for the 167 like mine. He spent one day riding mine and wouldn't give it back unless I make his just like it. It's not that the 144 is lacking anywhere it just isn't as old fart friendly as the 167. The 167 ran so good at sea level I was often checking to see if a 200cc motor crawled in my frame somewhere. The 04 had been left outside for a long time in the Palm Springs area. All the plastic and graphics are suffering from sunscald. Other than that the bike is mint. Jon is a brand new old rider and doesn't want to spiff up the plastics until he has destroyed them. They are completely whole but faded. The 04 CR144 really revs like a banshee and full on 10k and up I think it pulls minisculely better than the 167. Certainly better than as a 125. Below 10k though it just isn't the same. I will give some details as I put it back together.
