• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 expected longevity / mileage post thread

56,000 Miles. Same clutch New counter shaft seal. Still starts first try.
Burning about 1/2 qt still every oil change.
Still making good power. New brake pads...by Sixity.com.
Just as good as EBC. Half the price...just a heads up.

Would not suite my riding needs. For starters, tank to small for any adventure riding in Australia. When my Terra dies, I may look at the SWM 650 offerings or other similar.

Worth a look, as long as it can cruise on the open road without doing 10000rpm!

Once you see how ridiculously short the service interval is and how low the power is plus the small tank then you will think again.
KTM 790 Adventure R might be too much and the Honda Rally Raid 500X might not.

Reporting 73500km and 5 years old. just a problem starting. as long as the battery has 5 years long, it could be..

Hello 650 enthousiasts,
Hit the 10.000 km yesterday here in Holland/ The Netherlands.
Was first buyer in 2015, so not too much, however with one of two bikes you can only release one at a time.:excuseme:
Valves did not require adjustment when the 10k maintenance was done.
Apart from the rear brake switch, nothing unusual to report.
Most important: returning home with a big smile after each ride.
Still very much like the power to weight ratio and the crisp handling although I am moderate driver without the need of kneepads.
Regards,
Exwtk.

51,500 km. Apart from MIL light caused by dirty IACV rectified by cleaning, this thing is as strong as ever and feels like it's going to go forever.

Just returned from a 6-day ride through Nevada with 25,261 miles on the clock. Bought this bike new in December 2012. I commuted into San Francisco on it a few times, but most of its life has been spent in the dirt. Or sand...
