• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 luggage options

Well instead of going the Givi route I figured I'd take advantage of what's already in the garage. About ten years ago I jumped on a great sale at Sears on a combo 18 volt driver and circular saw. The set came with a decent blow molded black case. I'm still using the drill and saw and don't need the case so on the tail it goes. Craftsman hard tail case! Yes! It's just going to hold my backpack/briefcase for the 25 mile commute to the office so should hold up fine. Not even thinking about using it for offroad/adventure. Still saving for BR Moto racks and Wolfman bags for that purpose. Can't beat FREE!image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Ordered the BRmoto racks a couple weeks ago. They shipped out on the day that they said it was available, it arrived quickly and its now installed waiting for some bags. Very happy with the product.

Does anyone have instructions for mounting the Husky hard bag racks? I have them and I'm trying to get them mounted now. It is looking to me like the plastic rack for the top will have to be removed, which I am already using for my top case. Has anyone mounted a set of them before?

Try here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/husqvarna-bags-are-here-for-tr-models.33952/

Bill is making up some type of bushing so the rear rack can still be used for the people he sold them to? Something like that, not sure where you got yours.

I found then inside the bags. I got the rack on, but I had to modify the plastic top rack.
I will post pictures latter.

You know what "Blue", I like it, and I just happen to have an old saw case collecting dust in the basement. Hmmmmmmm

I had to cut the insides out but I'm actually pretty happy with it. It took a section of plywood on the inside bottom for reinforcement and would be even better if I had something similar to High Five's tail plate.

The Giant Loop guys stopped by the other day for some fitting time. The new Siskiyou Panniers fit really nice on the 650's

Later,

this maybe a dumb question, but wont the mufflers melt the inside of the bags?

There are a few reviews of them melting, but GL sells heat plates that bolt on the exhaust cans and protect the bags. GL says you need two plates for the Siskiyou's. I was really interested in buying these panniers until I saw that most people had problems with them melting and a few people commented that their volume was not as big as advertised... I don't know any CH riders that have them - but would love to hear if there are any.

Thanks to help from members here, TCI is working a luggage solution for the TR650. Most of their racks are pannier and tail racks built into on solid solution. Tom at TCI has been very responsive, and already make cool goodies for other Husky models. I'm really looking forward to see what they come up with. Figured it was worth mentioning here.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a set of BRMoto racks. Aussie dollar is dropping so had to act. Berg was nice enough to answer me on the 4th of July his time and ship them the next morning :applause:

Will see what he comes up with for the top rack shortly

Has anyone seen this rear rack support yet? http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motech-alu-rack-toprack-for-husqvarna-tr650-terra-strada-13

Looking at the installation instructions that can be found here it looks like it contains both an aluminum undersupport and a top rack. http://files.twistedthrottle.com.s3...ructions/SW-Motech/GPT/gpt_03_289_15000_b.pdf

I was planning on ordering the BRMoto racks but if I go with the above rear rack I wonder if I should go with the side racks from the same manufacturer to make sure everything lines up properly: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-m...decarrier-for-husqvarna-tr650-terra-strada-13

Very interesting. I definitely didn't notice the extra undersupport. No wonder the price is a little more than I would have expected. Also interested to see if anyone has experience with this rack.

Personally I want *beefy*, as in Motosportz TR650 skidplate beefy. I am going to use the BRMoto rear rack, and will get the BRMoto side racks.

Is the rear rack ready? I don't want to rush and buy the wrong thing but I am leaving for a trip in a few weeks and would like to have everything by then.

Not sure when they will start shipping, but if you need something - then you need to buy what is actually shipping at this time.

Personally I changed my travel plans so as not to use my TR650 for a trip this week, until I get the items I really want long term, because I like doing things correctly the first time.

I haven't seen or heard anything on a Brmoto rear rack. Is there one officially in development?

I just spoke to Berg at BRMoto who said they have a prototype rear rack but it will not likely got into production for a few more weeks, so maybe 3-4+ weeks before availability.
