• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TR650 Mods

My levers were well out beyond the end of the bar, but I kept the perch on the totally straight part of the bar. Maybe it could have been scooted down a bit, but I wanted full clamping on the perch. Flipping the brake line holder made a real difference. When I can get some heated grips I will take a file t the knurling, which increases the bar diameter just a bit. The bars with longer end will let me move the clutch in and make a longer cable unnecessary. All will end well.
 
I am extremely happy with the windscreen. It is rough cut so I could see how it worked before I put more time into it to put on the finishing touches. It is 9.5 inches tall. I tried as well as I could to integrate the lines of the bike into it. I am 80% happy with the way it looks, but 100% happy with how well it works!

That is a cracker of a bike. Love the screen...thought to myself when I saw the cast further back in the thread "The force is strong in this one". She's no longer a strada. You got an awesome looking black terra :thumbsup:

Thank you! It really does have sort of a Darth Vader look to it.:)
 
My changes, so far; Cheap-ass windshield - al la: BigDog, Ram-mounted GPS, Husky(BMW) Jen-U-Wine Handguards, license plate bracket removal/relocation, 12V power socket, spark arrestors removed.

Kenneth Webb is on his way to Divide Colorado! He is providing the supplies, I am providing the tooling. We have aliminum for the Rotopax system, tubing for the Wolfman bag luggage mounts and other accessories. His bike will have a new wheel set and Motosportz skid plate and risers when it arrives here. I can't wait to see it and the Motosportz stuff in real life.

Kenneth and I met here on Cafe Husky. It was his idea for the project and I am looking very forward to his arrival! We are also looking forward to sharing the whole project with you!

What all are you guys doing?
All in all...as much as we can! Wolfman luggage racks, radiator guards, adapters for the Rotopax fuel system, and whatever else we have time for. I need to finish my risers and mount my fat bars and Cycra guards, mount my GPS system into the wind screen, and make a bash guard. I am sure some stuff will have to wait as our time is limited. You are welcome to come by if you have time Chris.

He will be getting his wheels built in Denver this next week and taking his bike to Big D's for a Moss tool hook up. We will start this project the following week on the 4th of Feb.. He will probably be here for 4 or 5 days.

is he getting a set of woody's spoked wheels for his Strada? I thought about doing this. 21 front and 18 back? Will ABS be functional? Great soundin' mods guys...

We both have Terra's from the start. He is getting some Excel Tagasako rims laced to his hubs at Woodys. It's going to be a great setup!

I can't wait to see what you two cook up. Speedbrain Terra with luggage!
Me too! I just hope we have time to to bring everything to fruition.
 
Ahh, I see we've been outed! This all started when FabOneUp wanted to make an over-the-peg brake lever and we shared ideas. One thing led to another and since he has a good shop with tools/welders etc. that I do not, we decided to join forces to get some stuff done. For my part, I need racks for my Wolfman bags, and BigDog has shown that it can be done. I need wings for my Motosportz skid plate, and I am going to strengthen and lengthen my side stand. It is a little weak up at the top, too short, and the pin needs to move forward. The brake lever may or may not get done, depending on whether I can find my template that has disappeared somewhere in the stuff on my desk. Some bars to protect the tank/radiator shrouds would be nice and there is a good way to do it too. I guess it depends on how fast the two of us can work.

I'm in the process of loading the truck as the dawn breaks, and should be on the road a little after lunch. MOSS (If Italy can get the new update to Big D Motorsports), stronger rims (a little excessive but I'm going to do it anyway) and a lot of bent chromoly tubing to hang on the back! It's a nice way to spend a couple of weeks, but I'm in a tee shirt and shorts now here in Houston, and I don't think those will be coming with me to Colorado!
 
I know the riding there is terrific, but I don't think there will be time. The truck cab is full so I don't have room for my gear. I'll be back this summer!
