• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 MOSS tool locator / owner map

Hi guys, think I'm going to pull the trigger and buy a TR650 soon since a dealer in WV has a couple new 2014s. So I just ask them if the thing has been MOSS'd and he'll know what I'm talking about?

Been reading about how to make the bike run less lean so I plan on getting the Power Commander since I have one in my Royal Enfield and WR250R and they've both been great upgrades. Unless someone recommends otherwise I'll just plan on going that route on the TR650 too.

Hi Potomac, I have a feeling you might be purchasing from the same dealer I did. They did a great deal for me, but they did not have a MOSS set up at that time. Fortunately, ToyTech in Grantville, PA (Harrisburg/Hershey area) does, at least last time I had my bike serviced there. I highly recommend getting MOSS'ed. Let me know how you make out.

I spoke with Eurosport in Asheville this week and they told me they did not have the tool and the Moss system was being shut down by BMW this month.

Motoforza in Escondido CA seems to have the tool

Motoforza does indeed have a MOSS tool and according to the service manager it has been updated with the most current software. They also have the new KTM diagnostic tool that works on the TR-650s, which they used on my Strada, too, (According to the Service Mgr. they will be phasing out the use of the MOSS tool now).

They also expect to get a new KTM diagnostic tool that will interface with BMHuskys. My bike is at that shop now and was diagnosed with the MOSS tool, so it does work for them.
Dahlitz Motorcycles in Queanbean, has the equipment & access to OSS for Huskie's TR Strada Nuda via KTM www.dahlitzmotorcycle.net.au

Not trying to rain on your parade, mate, but.... I just called them (Tues morning 9.20) and talked with Carl for a good 15min, who advised that their software is approx. 18mths old.... and therefore obviously has to be the previous, BMW derived + run version (aka MOSS.... not the new OSS).

After checking back with someone else in the place (I overheard their exchange), they also hadn't heard of either term, MOSS or OSS nor anything that relates to and couldn't tell any difference beyond "we've got the latest and hook up to Husqvarna".:banghead:

For anyone interested, it might be very advisable to do your own checking-out before committing to any action.

Since their website's down:
