    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi guys, Im taking a journey across the USA from Atlanta Ga to out west (Louisiana, Texas, Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, California PCH, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Kansas, Missouri, Tennissee, Etc...)

Myself and 2 other guys are taking a month off work, we are leaving July 2nd.
Im trying to get the bike prepped and farkeled out for the trek. This week ill be doing the valve adjustment at 5k miles (which yes is early, but i want to get all the valves to the looser end of the tolerances so i have no issue putting 4000-5000 miles on her on the trip)

We will be documenting the journey on BrotherMoto.com which is our company that just launched this week.

I am currently on the hunt for a 17t countershaft sprocket if anyone has one ill buy it off of ya! So far i haven't been able to source one and they are a special order through jt sprockets and supersprox, I just don't have enough time to go that route.

If anyone has a tank bag for cheap I'm also hunting for that as well.

Have any kind of an itinerary? I'm just outside of Kansas City, not really any place to crash for the night, but could have the sprocket shipped here and garage space to do maintenance if that fit your timeline better.
 
Same goes here. If you get near Fayetteville, Arkansas I have a garage, tools and a place to do maintenance. You can have anything shipped here ya like and then come work on the bike. Let me know.
 
You should stop by Bill's Motorcycle Plus (BMP) in Salem, Oregon. I imagine you could arrange to have any Husqvarna parts, tires, whatever, staged and ready to go there.

We have a number of riders in the Salem area so let us know if / when you're coming through here. We could possibley connect or help with stuff... even suggest routes. There are some amazing routes and scenic byways across Oregon. You will love crossing the Cascade Mountains and Coast Range mountains.
 
Well I've gotten to the fun part of checking the valves, dropping the subframe.
So far I was able to check the outermost valves (right side) intake was .010 and exhaust was at the loose end at .016
Now i have to decide wether or not to drop the subframe and completely remove the valve cover to check the other 2...
Im leaning towards digging deeper because I would like to get that one intake valve shimmed down to the loosest end of the tolerance, so far our trek is going to be 6,200 miles, I think I will need that margin to allow tightening over the course of 6000+ miles.

As far as route, I will get back to you guys. We are still trying to solidify plans.
