• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Trouble getting parts from Husky

DerBrizon

Husqvarna
A Class
So it's been nearly a month now and no word from Husky about where my parts are! :(

I'm led to believe this is because the handover from BMW to KTM has Husky focusing on working with KTM parts, and have not allocated enough time supporting the bikes they're basically abandoning.

Long story short, I'm one of the many who has had their fender bust off on trails. On top of this, the right side engine mounting bolt and spacer fell out. Don't ask me how, I went in and tightened everything I could see at 600 miles, and usually do so at each oil change - which is how I noticed this missing bolt. Does anyone know an alternative source online or elsewhere that could help me with these parts? Someone who already has the 10/11mm spacers, and the tail fender/license plate illuminater cover would be a friend of mine indeed. I COULD buy the (sub-par from what I hear) R&G Fender eliminator for $180-200(!!!) but why do that when you can get an OEM fender and build a bracket for less than $50USD?

Also, anyone else ever have to wait an inordinate amount of time for simple parts?

Who did you order from?

I was told that they are merging the Husky parts over to KTM distribution channels and should have it all migrated over as of today (mar 5th).

I have been ordering lots of parts, most come quick, but the airbox got hung up. I get most parts in a week. Never been one month on any part so far. 2 weeks tops.

I ordered a overflow bottle cap from KTM-parts and got it in four days. By the way a quart gear oil bottle cap fits our overflow bottles, but it looks like a dunce hat. LOL

I don't know why the impatience. I once had to wait 6 months for a $500 wheel from KTM, that I paid up front for. :excuseme:

But really, if something is time sensitive and my local guy says it's back ordered or something. I'll usual check with some other dealers to see if they have it in stock and can ship to me. It will cost a lot more for the part, and again to have it shipped. Once had to pay $27 shipping for a used part that cost $3 new, so I wouldn't have to throw away a session of racing.

Call a respectable dealer and see if they can get you the part in a reasonable time, if so, cancel the order with the first dealer. Probably Calloway down to quality of dealer.

This sounds like good news to me! The kid on the phone at the dealer said the part was back ordered, and the handover meant that they weren't really shipping anything out until logistics were handled at KTM with how to take over TR parts distribution. His estimate was "Two weeks? Two months? We don't get a lot of feedback."
