    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi guys, I didn't get my manual, but what is the recommended tyre pressure for front and rear.

28psi front, 35psi rear for road/hwy by the manual, which I reckon works really well on the bitumen. Off road I drop 8psi in each front and rear, but that's not a Husky recommendation, just 'seat of the pants feel'.

Just like to bring this up again, specifically for the Strada, are guys running the recommended pressures? 28 psi seems low in the back, with 31 psi up front.
I'm currently running 32F 24R, but now I've changed my front tyre to a Pirelli Scorpion Rally, it is definitely a lot more twitchy above 100 kmh (60 mph) and gets badly buffeted around trucks.
 
I run 28psi front AND back on the Strada. Helps the aweful turn-in at speed. Also helps absorb a little of the rough square bump performance of the rear shock. Still running the original tyres. SOOOOO wish it had a 17" front wheel. May even forego the abs to try it as I have a spare 17" motard wheel at present with a decent tyre on it.

Thanks Greg, I'll try that next week. I did go to factory settings and it improved a fair bit, the waggle started at about 120, didn't get behind any trucks on my test ride.
 
Reviving an old thread here. We've determined the recommended tire pressures by the manual. To me, they seem high.

By the manual

Terra
Front: 28.45psi
Rear: 35.56psi

Strada
Front: 31.29psi
Rear: 28.45psi


Now, we've also had a lot of folks complaining about head shake or weave in the front end. Not something I've experienced. It occurred to me last week as I was explaining my tire pressures to a MSF instructor that perhaps the weave might be somewhat contributed to too much pressure up front. So post up what you're running and if you have any headshake or weave.


I'm running 25 front and rear on my Terra-fied Strada (21/17 spokes), and have absolutely no shake or weave on K60's.

Can I also suggest please note if Terra or Strada.
 
I run recommended tire pressure for the Terra and only notice the death wobble above 90-100 mph unless there is a lot of head wind. Also if you keep a heavy grip at higher speeds it will wobble harder. I am running the stock Metzler tires. I think the nobbier tires play a difference in the death wobble too. Just remind me of my kx500 with nobbies getting close to 100mph wanted to kill you on the street on a trail with nobbies worked well. Not the same with the Terra because of tires more street oriented get less wobble on street but do not dare going fast on sand they love to wash out the front.
 
I always (on or off road) run 18#'s front and 21#'s rear. No head shake at 80 mph, better ride, better traction on gravel.
 
I haven't experienced any head shake. The only time my front wheel gets squirrelly is because I am getting buffeted by the wind causing my arms to move.
 
I have been playing with tire pressures for the past few days trying to alleviate the weave with the 19/17 cast wheel set up.
Above 75 it starts and so far pressures from the low 20's to mid 30's don't seem to make a difference.
Oddly my 21/18's with the stock metzlers don't start to weave until over 90, which is really not an issue.

BTW, would you believe "I was trying to figure out why my bike weaves above 75" was not a vaild enough excuse for this guy of why I was running 25 over. :excuseme:
