• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Uneven power with steady throttle?

If I put my TE610 2008 in 3rd, and hold the throttle fixed at 3000rpm, the engine sounds smooth but the feeling I get in the saddle is jerky - lots of little accelerations and deaccelerations. An occasional backfire. Everything stock No Power Up kit. Stock exhaust etc. I'm guessing its the fuel mixture, right? Or couldit be something else? Any suggeations how to fix it without going to JD?

Y U NO POWERUP?

Get PU plug and iBeat or a Power Commander (it comes w/ a PU plug). Right now you prob have a lean 40hp instead of 47hp.

I went ahead and did the powerup - that fixed the exhaust backfires, but I still get a herky-jerky feeling in the saddle. Accelerating its fine, and at motorway speed (90 kph) its ok, but when I have to go through slow traffic, it bucks. The engine sounds perfectly smooth. Which makes me think it might be something on the flywheel/timing chain/clutch/drive chain side of universe. Any suggestions for how to diagnose?

I'm riding the bike from Berlin to London over the chunnel, mostly on B roads, its quite a fun trip!

Even with the PU my 630 was very lean. If you have access to a 32bit Windows laptop I'd buy the iBeat connector ($150) and download the software from JTemple (free). Add fuel in the low/med ranges until it smooths out. You'll also be able to pull error codes in the future. Keep in mind, big singles are never going to be happy at 3000rpm in 5th/6th gear.

i have a sm 610 06 with fcr.its complety stock,i put it iridium plug but the stutter problem remains.
Could you tell me the settings or some kit for fcr to solve that problem.

Check your chain for tight spots.

Yeah I let the original get bad on mine after getting in some sand and water, and every time I would pull a wheelie or whack the throttle, it would feel like gear teeth grinding and slipping from the links "popping".
