As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Same here, my WR300 is the only bike I've bought without riding (mostly due to what I read on this site) and I highly doubt I will ever find a replacement for it. The next bikes we get will be a set of WR125/144/165s, one for me and one for my daughter.....or maybe two for me and my daughter can keep riding her coughktmcough.
I would love to get some seat time on a GG but no one I know has one locally. Orange is out of the question, TM is always an option since I love the exotic bikes. The Ossa looks cool, but like the BMW I will watch from a distance.
The only bike I ever bought without riding was my WR250 and I like it the best of any I've had. The Ossa looks like it would be great with all the weight low and centered but you never know, it might want to deflect off everything. To their credit they are using top notch components like Ohlins suspension so it should work out. My Husky will be a hard act to follow and rest assured I will ride it's replacement and it is going to have to be better or I'll own 2 Huskys.
Husky great for the tall guy, im 6'4 , walking in the dealer to buy a 300xcw .but as soon as i sat on the wr300 i knew it was the bike for me !!! and 7900 vs 5799 with lights ! so far so good , i love it !! cant wait for the husky to add a 6th gear and e-startGuys the new 2012 GG bikes are made for the tall riders now so I would at least sit on one before thinking they are to small. I have the 2010 GG 300 and at 5' 7" it fits me. My son at 6' had to add the tall guy bits. Just a thought on the 12's. Hey don't throw stones I own two Huskys! BTW I'm getting the new Ossa Explorer.
Buddy just bought a 2011 TE310, still has his 07 WR250. We ride mainly gnarly stuff. I don't think the WR is going to see much use anymore. He just keeps raving about the handling, light weight and amazing motor of the TE. IMHO the TE is a much better bike, much more modern and the handling is IMHO much better as is the suspension and ergonomics. When he said he was keeping the WR I said you will never ride it again. He is a Rekluse away from that.
You are either a two stroke fan or you're not. My friend learned to ride on four strokes and has ridden them for a while. After convincing her to try one of my two strokes a while back, she has slowly but surely sold all her four stroke bikes and replaced them with two strokes. Why? Because two strokes are "more fun" to ride. I agree. She just bought my old KX250 last week. To each their own!Buddy just bought a 2011 TE310, still has his 07 WR250. We ride mainly gnarly stuff. I know I should never say never but there is 2 things you will likely never see me riding in the woods and they both start with the four letter word four, a four stroke dirt bike and a four wheeler. Before a 4t I would strongly consider a unicycle, pogo-stick or a fat chick.![]()
Some fat chicks are cool.![]()
Ah, I wish I'd remembered that one for my earlier post. I was impressed, too, but it sure didn't pan out. Now BMW thinks I'd actually spend 8 grand to see if they got it right the second time, since it's a Husky?
That was about as big a flop as the Cannondale.
They can't even pay guys enough money to race that thing!![]()
I would consider one a for a Dual Sport, but not a race bike or serious woods bike. Nobody has yet to build a bike with the fuel cell in the rear that has worked for a race bike. Too much tail wagging the dog action going on with that design. Not even in road racing has it panned out.
Huskys EWC team has nobody riding anything but the X-light bikes this year. I can't think of the last time they didn't have a E3 entry.
TXC 449? or TE 449?Let me suggest that you not make that call til you've spent a day on a new TXC 449 that has been set up for you. You might be pleasantly surprised.
I hate big 4ts in the woods, but these don't handle or ride like any big 4t I've ever ridden & I've ridden quite a few. These new Husky 4ts feel quite light & nimble with easy power delivery, yet all the power you want when needed.......
Cory Graffunder seemed to manage just fine on his 449's..........

I have one of each and I love to switch back and forth. I am committed to only one wife, but having a 2t and 4t to switch up is kind of like cheatin'!You are either a two stroke fan or you're not.
