  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Up Tite exhaust

Husqvarna
B Class
Here are some pictures of the UP TITE slip on. I figured I would post some pictures in case someone is intrested in getting on. I looked all over online and had a hard time finding a picture of one, so I bought one anyway knowing the quailty of George's stuff. And the bonus knowing its made personally by him in his shop in California.

Fits great, looks good, lite weight and sounds awsome. USFS Approved spark arrestor.

I'm not much for the polished stainless look, but it looks nice otherwise. Is it any louder than the stock exhaust or is it quieter? How much did that run you?

Its actually polished aluminum. Could DA sand it if you don't like polished.
Cost around $450 with the power up parts. It seemed to be about the same sound level as my stock one.

Exactly how much does this muffler weigh? And I am also curious about it's noise level? Is it open straight though except for the spark screen?

Can't answer the weight question, don't have a scale. But it is alot lighter than the stock one, about half the weight I would guess. Also I don't have a db meter so I can't say for sure on the noise level, but it almost seems quieter while cruising and maybe just a little louder when you get on it hard.
Correct, It is a straight thru muffler with only the screen on the end.
Best bet is to give George a call if intrested. (714) 540-2920

I've got one on my 2010 TE 510 and am very happy with it. I also don't have a db meter to do before and after tests. I agree that it is louder when you're on it, but is relatively quiet when you aren't. I'm not saying it's quiet, but my neighbors haven't complained when I've asked about the noise from me coming home from work in the middle of the night.
