• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Up-Tite Husqvarna, Santa Ana

I met George in the Eighties when working in Arizona and racing in California at Riverside Grand Prix. Wadded the transmission on my 510 Husky. Gave it too George to fix. Had the bike back the following weekend for more racing. Told me what I needed and completed the job in a hurry. Even fixed a problem on my Pro Circuit exhaust with out being asked. Thanks again, George Chris Greene

How many times a week do I call Him? :busted:

Without the man, more'n a few of my- and others I know projects would still be on the stand instead of in the dirt!

Long live the King of Husky's! :notworthy:

I haven't met George in person, but I've talked to him on the phone a couple of times and he's been really helpful. You can tell that he really knows Husky's.

I don't have a local Husky dealer, but I do have a local "former" Husky dealer here. I was trying to decide whether to take my bike to him for a valve check. When talking to George, I happened to mention where I live, and he said that he had a friend here that he recommended. Turns out it was the same guy I was already considering! George told me to tell the mechanic to give him a call if he had any questions while working on my bike.

I have an Uptite oil cap on my bike, which is awesome. Top notch product! I would also consider Uptite if I buy another Husky down the road.

Are you talking about Ed at Dyna Reno??

WOW,
Did you all see the new levers that Up-tite has?
Quality you can feel.
Quality you can use.
A one man shop with lots of functional equipment.
Awesome shop for sure.
Thank you George for ALL you put into the brand.

Last October we made the pilgrimage to Up-Tite and got to spend some time with George. He was busy repairing a UK guys stator when we got there but still welcomed us back. The short time we got to spend there was the highlight of our few days in So Cal. Disneyland was cool, but it is no Up-Tite.

George is the man at uptite. I haven't been there in awhile but when I do I spend an extra hour looking at all the bikes and trick out parts he makes. I saw 1974 husky 400 cr with hand made triples and kyb forks there once.

This sounds alot like our family. Whenever we do the Socal / Didneeland trip, I always set 1 day aside to go in to Uptite and commense to drooling over everything like a toothless baby ! When I finally stop drooling I usually think of something to talk about with George or if I dont George will. Always a good time and I usually drop a fair amount of coin (worth every penny though). My latest purchase was his new Levers and an awsome aluminum machined carb line filter. Thanks George (and Crash) !

I bought my TE630 a couple weeks ago, and went to install the Power Up kit myself when I got it home. Instead of disconnecting the fuel tank, I balanced it on the frame's backbone. Not a good plan, as it fell off and broke the plastic fitting on the fuel line where it attaches to the throttle body.

I thought I was looking at least a 4 week wait for the fuel line, so I was calling around to see if anybody had one on the shelf, to no avail. I called Uptite, and George gave me instructions on a work around that would allow me to ride my new bike. He didn't make a dime off me, but helped me get my new TE630 on the road.

The fellowship of the Husqvarna community is incredible. I'm an old Harley rider, and you don't see this type of true "brotherhood" much anymore.

Thanks George, for your help in getting me back on the road.

Well how do I start this? I met George in 1987 and bought an XC430 from him. Then I got a used WR400 , a XC500, and a CR250. George serviced all of them and always treated me right. Now 24 years later I have a 1990 TE510 that my son and I are restoring. So the first thing I did was to call George again.

First time I went there I asked him if he could get the oil changed...I had just bought my bike. He told me to bring the bike in and he would show me how to do it....he gave me the tools and walked me through the whole thing. Wow! :applause: He is a great man...and I am now a customer for life...thanks George.

+1 I once did a valve check in his parking lot, had some trouble and he took an hour to help me and refused to accept payment for it.

OBVIOUSLY, don't go there expecting such service, but the guy is #1 in my book.

I have got to agree with all the above - George is the Man - a wealth of information, willing to help, a straight shooter and custom fabricates the coolest parts around. Thanks again George for all your help!

Let's bring this back up, now that George has gone Beta, he will still be there for support of the Husqvarna, so not to worry. Will he be able to order you factory parts, no, but if he has in stock he will sell it to you. Will he sell you a new Husqvarna bike, no. Will he answer the phone and talk Husky and/or Beta, yes. He is not dead, so we can all thank him still even if he is NOT a Husqvarna Dealer.

Old dogs never die.[Just change a little bit] As far as George goes 'George will be George'. He's the best bar none****************************************!!!
