As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

You lot just kill me with all of the rubbish about the weight difference between the 610 and 630.

Weighed my lightened up Suzuki DRZ400s - 318 lb (Fuel tank full)
Compared the 610 parts fiche to the 630 and the differences that can be attributed to the 630 weight gain are:
Steel subframe vs aluminum + 1-2 lb
Dual exhaust vs single + 8-10 lb
DOHC vs SOHC + 1-2 lb
That's about it!
I think if you weighed both the 610 and the630 on the same scales, 10 - 15 lb would be a reasonable weight difference.
If you are worried about weight the 610 and the 630 are both too heavy!

Anyone living next to a truck weighing station ?

Sorry to break ranks with the faithful, but the truth is the worst insult!

Navaho6;129451 said:Weighed my '09 (610?) a few weeks ago - 330 lbs with full tank, rear rack, bark busters and Corbin seat. The Corbin probably adds 2 lbs. Barkbusters and rack, maybe another 2 - 3 lbs.
willie;129458 said:Looked long and hard at the 690 but the deal breaker for me was the close ratio tranny. I know it is a bit lighter and more powerful but my idea of a dual sport is a bike that can plink along at a walking pace and then cruise effortless for long distances on the highway. The 630 shines here!
