  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Uptite throttle tested today - sweet!

Received my throttle tube from George the other day and everything fit like it should. Broke the bike out today for a few hours and it is golden.

Smooth as butter and really nice on the tight stuff. His oil fill plug is pretty trick too. I customized it with some caliper paint.

I like the paint job.

I have one on my 08 TE 300 (Athena) and it definitely improves the feel in the throttle.

Thanks for the props guys!

For sure noticed a change, but I believe it's the smoothness that makes it feel different. I noticed it on the gas and off the gas. I mic'd the cam and it's the same diameter. I know G2 makes throttle cams 10-20% larger. There is some room in the stock Domino housing for a larger cam.

Has anyone put handquards with it yet? I have one & would like to use it but can't fiqure it out. I may want to sell it. I have had it for about a year & never used.

I put handguards on with mine. It works great! You can't use the end bearing but the action is still smoother than stock without the bearing. All you need to do is cut off the end of the tube. You may want to talk to George because I thought he came up with fix for this issue, but I have not talked to him in years.

I wanted to use the whole set up including the bearing. I didn't want to cut on a $50 item, but i quess I will. The last time I talked to George he didn't have an answer & he usually has a answer for everything. right? I didn't want to send it back because it looks & feels sooo good. ONe guy on here figured something out but I couldn't quite understand it. I was hoping someone else had a fix. Cutting the end off is better than having it on my bench for a year though, thanks !

have you got anymore full photos of your bike oldschool to see it in all its glory???

Sorry oldschool, I didn't mean to highjack your thread. I belive that uptite throttle is the best in the business. Truely another great Uptite product.

Yup, cutting the end off of the tube is the way to go. Just like cutting the end off your grips. Both need to be cut to install full wrap around handguards

Mr. Bagman; Send me your old one and I'll send you the new one for the wrap around guards.
Later George
